Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran probing-prompting dan konvensional. (2) Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model probing-prompting dan konvensional. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain quasi eksperimental design group. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMK Setih Setio 2 Muara Bungo, Jambi. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas dengan jumlah sampel 62 orang yang ditentukan dengan simple random sampling, yaitu X MM sebagai kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional sebanyak 31 orang dan X AK sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Probing-Prompting. Uji Persyaratan telah dilakukan sehingga diperoleh data tidak berdistribusi normal dan tidak homogen. Hipotesis dianalisis menggunakan uji mann whitney pada taraf signifikan 0,05 dengan bantuan microsoft excel. Berdasarkan analisis data dan uji hipotesis yang dilakukan diperoleh bahwa : (1) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran probing-prompting dan konvensional. (2) Terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model probing-prompting dan konvensional. (2) Improving student’s critical thinking skills taught by using probing-prompting and conventional models. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a quasi-experimental design group. The research population was all students of class X SMK Setih Setio 2 Muara Bungo, Jambi. The research sample consisted of two classes with a sample size of 62 people determined by simple random sampling, namely X MM as the control class using the conventional learning model and X AK as the experimental class using the Probing-Prompting learning model. Requirements test has been carried out so that the data obtained are not normally distributed and not homogeneous. The hypotheses were analyzed using the Mann Whitney test at a significant level of 0.05 with the help of Microsoft Excel. Based on data analysis and hypothesis testing, it was found that: (1) There were differences in students' critical thinking skills taught using probing-prompting and conventional learning models. (2) There is an increase in students' critical thinking skills taught by using probing-prompting and conventional models.
