Abstract

This research was conducted to know how strong the correlation between student’s learning motivation and speaking achievement. To attain the objective, the data is was taken from the score result of the second semester at SMA ZAIEN. The participants were the 30 students in the grade 2 SMA ZAIEN. The method of this research was quantitative method. The data were analyzed by using SPSS version 23. The result showed that there was significance correlation between students learning motivation and speaking achievement.. Hypothesis testing to see the correlation obtained significant at α = 0.05; concluded that there was a significant and positive relationship between student’s learning motivation and speaking achievement at SMA ‘’ ZAIEN ‘’ Tebet Based on the result, it can be concluded that the higher student learning motivation the higher the ability of students in speaking. Keyword: student’s motivation, speaking achievement, correlation, quantitative research.
