Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana efektivitas layanan konseling kelompok yang menggunakan pendekatan Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri mahasiswa rantau sekaligus membantu mereka mengubah pola pikir negatif yang dimiliki. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya tingkat kepercayaan diri yang dialami mahasiswa rantau, yang dipengaruhi oleh kesulitan dalam proses penyesuaian diri serta munculnya pikiran irasional yang berkaitan dengan identitas daerah asal.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skor pre-test kepercayaan diri mahasiswa rantau berada pada kategori rendah dengan rentang nilai antara 75 hingga 84. Setelah diberikan perlakuan berupa layanan konseling kelompok dengan pendekatan CBT selama lima kali pertemuan, hasil post-test memperlihatkan adanya peningkatan skor kepercayaan diri yang berada pada rentang 95–111 dengan kategori sedang.Peningkatan kepercayaan diri mahasiswa dalam penelitian ini dipengaruhi oleh penerapan teknik restrukturisasi kognitif yang menjadi bagian dari pendekatan CBT./ This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of group counseling services utilizing the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach in boosting the self-confidence of students living away from home and helping them alter their negative thought patterns. The study was motivated by the low self-confidence levels observed among these students, a condition influenced by adjustment difficulties and the emergence of irrational thoughts regarding their regional identities. Research findings indicated that pre-test self-confidence scores fell into the "low" category, ranging from 75 to 84. Following the intervention—which consisted of five group counseling sessions based on the CBT approach—post-test results showed an increase in self-confidence scores to the 95–111 range, placing them in the "moderate" category. The improvement in student self-confidence observed in this study was driven by the application of cognitive restructuring techniques, a key component of the CBT approach.
