Setiap orang sudah mempunyai identitas dari sejak lahir, hal ini tidak akan merubah identitas itu sendiri. Namun apa yang terjadi apabila identitas asli yang sudah ada sejak lahir harus berubah menjadi identitas yang baru? Permasalahan ini terjadi dalam novel Sky Burial An Epic Love Story in Tibet karya Xue Xinran, dalam cerita ini ada suatu masalah yang harus dihadapi oleh karakter utama hingga merubah identitasnya. Karya sastra novel Sky Burial An Epic Love Story in Tibet karya Xue Xinran ini bercerita dari kisah nyata yang ditulis oleh Xue Xinran tentang kehidupan Shu Wen. Shu Wen pergi ke Tibet untuk mencari suaminya dan merubah identitasnya karena mengikuti kehidupan sekitarnya. Dalam studi ini, penulis skripsi akan membahas tentang masalah yang dihadapi Shu Wen dan perubahan identitasnya. Studi ini juga akan membahas tiga masalah dalam novel ini yaitu membahas identitas Shu Wen sebagai orang Cina,proses Shu Wen merubah identitasnya, apa saja penyebab perubahan itu terjadi, dan pesan yang ingin disampaikan oleh penulis. Hasil dari studi ini akan memberikan gambaran tentang perubahan identitas yang bertujuan untuk memberikan manfaat kepada pembaca skripsi tentang pentingnya identitas diri sendiri. Everyone already has an identity from birth, this will not change the identity itself. But what happens if the existing original identity at birth should be turned into a new identity? This problem occurs in the novel Sky Burial An Epic Love Story in Tibet work of Xue Xinran, in this story there is a problem that must be faced by the main characters to change her identity. Literary novel Sky Burial An Epic Love Story in Tibet work of Xue Xinran tells the story of a true story written by Xue Xinran about Shu Wen life. Shu Wen went to Tibet to find her husband and changed her identity because it follows the life of the surroundings.In this study, the written of the skripsi will discuss about issues facing Shu Wen and change her identity. This study will also discuss the three issues in this novel in discussing the identity of Shu Wen as Chinese people, Shu Wen process
