Abstract
Kata kunci: konseling kelompok, pendekatan behavioral, behavior contract, perilaku disiplin / SStudent tardiness remains one of the most common disciplinary issues at school, particularly among tenth-grade students at SMA Ignatius Slamet Riyadi. Although students generally demonstrate a satisfactory level of discipline and the school has implemented a character-building program through Triber School, some students continue to exhibit recurring tardiness. This study aimed to examine changes in students' disciplinary behavior after participating in group counseling based on the behavioral approach using the behavior contract technique, to describe the implementation of the counseling service, and to evaluate its effectiveness in improving students' disciplinary behavior. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The participants consisted of eight tenth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired-samples t-test. The findings showed that students' disciplinary behavior improved after participating in the group counseling program. The results of the paired-samples t-test revealed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores, indicating that the research hypothesis was accepted. The counseling program was conducted in five sessions, including group formation, assessment and goal setting to identify students' undisciplined behavior and its contributing factors, implementation of the behavior contract technique, evaluation of the counseling outcomes, and administration of the posttest. All stages of the counseling process were carried out as planned. Therefore, group counseling based on the behavioral approach using the behavior contract technique was found to be effective in improving students' disciplinary behavior while fostering their commitment and responsibility toward complying with school regulations. Keywords: behavioral approach, behavior contract, disciplinary behavior, group counseling, student tardiness.
