Abstract

Penciptaan karya ini dilatarbelakangi oleh maraknya penyalahgunaan trotoar di wilayah DKI Jakarta yang mengorbankan hak-hak dasar pejalan kaki. Untuk menyuarakan isu sosial dan tata ruang urban ini, penulis membuat sebuah karya jurnalistik berbentuk video dokumenter yang berjudul "Trotoar yang Terlupakan". Penulis berperan sebagai sutradara yang bertanggung jawab penuh dalam mengimplementasikan keadaan lapangan menjadi narasi visual yang objektif, mendalam, dan mampu menggugah emosi, empati, serta simpati publik. Pada tahap implementasi estetika sinematografi, penulis mengaplikasikan variasi penyusunan shot size, mulai dari extreme wide shot untuk memetakan lanskap kekacauan kota, hingga close up tajam untuk menangkap detail pelanggaran secara mendalam. Visual diperkuat dengan penerapan komposisi rule of thirds guna menciptakan keseimbangan gambar yang dinamis antara objek pelanggaran dan latar belakang realitas publik. Melalui proses penyusunan gambar sequencing yang terencana, susunan potongan visual tersebut tidak sekadar menyajikan data spasial, melainkan mampu menghidupkan emosional visual penonton melalui kontras sosial yang jujur tanpa rekayasa. Penciptaan karya ini menunjukkan bahwa penggabungan teknik sinematografi yang presisi berhasil menyeimbangkan penyampaian edukasi sosial dan hukum dengan kekuatan emosional warga secara proporsional. Pada akhirnya, dokumenter “Trotoar yang Terlupakan” ini bukan hanya sebagai instrumen digital yang menyampaikan isu penyalahgunaan trotoar, tetapi juga memperlihatkan visual yang estetik dan pesan yang mengandung perasaan emosi, empati, serta simpati dari penonton. Kata Kunci: Penyalahgunaan Trotoar, Shot Size, Rule of Thirds, Sequencing, Emosional Visual / This creation project is motivated by the rampant misuse of sidewalks in the DKI Jakarta region, which severely compromises the fundamental rights of pedestrians. To amplify this social and urban spatial issue, the author produced a journalistic video documentary titled "Trotoar yang Terlupakan”. Serving as the director, the author assumed full responsibility for translating empirical field conditions into an objective, profound visual narrative capable of evoking public emotion, empathy, and sympathy. In implementing cinematographic aesthetics, the author applied various shot size configurations, ranging from extreme wide shots to map the chaotic urban landscape, to sharp close-ups to capture the details of violations comprehensively. The visuals are further enhanced by the application of the rule of thirds composition to create a dynamic visual balance between the subjects of violation and the reality of the public backdrop. Through a well-planned visual sequencing process, the compiled footage does not merely present spatial data, but actively stimulates the audience's emotional visuals through an honest, unmanipulated representation of social contrast. This project demonstrates that the precise integration of cinematographic techniques successfully bridges the delivery of social-legal education with the citizens' emotional resonance proportionally. Ultimately, the documentary "Trotoar yang Terlupakan" serves not only as a digital instrument conveying the issue of sidewalk encroachment, but also offers an aesthetic visual experience that embeds profound feelings of emotion, empathy, and sympathy within the audience.
