Abstract
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasi yang dilakukan secara kuantitatif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kemampuan penguasaan kosakata dan kemampuan berbicara lancar siswa, untuk mengetahui hubungan antara penguasaan kosakata dan kemampuan berbicara lancar siswa. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMAN 10 Bekasi; XI IPA 6 Variabel X adalah penguasaan kosakata siswa yang disebut prediksi, sedangkan variabel Y adalah kemampuan berbicara lancar disebut kriteria. Data variabel X diperoleh melalui tes, sedangkan data variabel Y diperoleh melalui nilai berbicara siswa. Tes terdiri dari 45 pertanyaan dengan empat alternatif pilihan. Peneliti merancang tes berdasarkan topik yang mereka pelajari di sekolah sesuai dengan silabus. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, peneliti menduga tujuan penelitian tidak terpenuhi; tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara penguasaan kosakata siswa dan kemampuan berbicara lancar, peneliti menyarankan agar siswa meningkatkan penguasaan kosa kata mereka untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara mereka, para guru harus memotivasi siswa dan akan menggunakan banyak teknik yang berkaitan dengan kosa kata dan perkembangan berbicara terutama dengan berlatih dan peneliti lainnya, semoga ini Penelitian akan mendorong mereka untuk melakukan dan mengeksplorasi penelitian lebih dalam yang berkaitan dengan penelitian ini. Kata kunci: Penelitian Korelasional, Penguasaan Kosa Kata Siswa, Kemampuan Berbicara lancar Siswa This research is a correlational research by using quantitatively of eleventh grader at SMA 10 Bekasi. The objectives of this research are to find out whether there was a significant correlation between students' vocabulary mastery and speaking ability, to determine the relationship between variables. The respondents in this research was the eleventh graders’ of SMAN 10 Bekasi ; XI SCIENCE 6. The independent variable X is students' vocabulary mastery called predictor, while the dependent variable Y is Speaking Fluency called criterion. The data of variable X were obtained through test, while data of variable Y were obtained through document. The test consisted of 45 questions with four alternative options. The researcher designed the test based on particular topic they have at school. Based on the research findings and discussion, the researcher assumed the objectives research were not fulfilled; there was not a significant correlation between students vocabulary mastery and speaking fluency. Based on the data obtained, the researcher suggested students to increase their vocabulary mastery in order to improve their speaking fluency, the teachers should motivate the students and will use many techniques related to vocabulary and speaking development especially by practising and for other researchers, hopefully this research will encourage them to conduct and explore deeper researches related to this study.
