Abstract

Diskriminasi terhadap anak-anak penyandang disabilitas masih menjadi persoalan sosial yang signifikan di Indonesia. Salah satu institusi yang memainkan peran penting dalam mendukung mereka adalah SLB Dian Grahita, yang menyediakan pendidikan khusus untuk anak-anak dengan kebutuhan khusus. Skripsi ini, berjudul "Teknik Sinematografi dalam Menampilkan Realitas Kehidupan Sekolah Luar Biasa Melalui Tayangan Feature 'Cahaya Masa Depan di Balik SLB Dian Grahita'," bertujuan untuk menggambarkan realitas kehidupan siswa SLB melalui pendekatan sinematografi yang mendalam dan emosional. Menggunakan teknik seperti low angle, high angle, dan pencahayaan alami, karya ini berupaya menyampaikan pesan inklusivitas dan empati. Hasil akhir berupa tayangan feature yang tidak hanya menginspirasi tetapi juga meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya pendidikan inklusif. Tantangan selama produksi meliputi pengambilan gambar di tengah siswa dengan kebutuhan khusus, penyesuaian terhadap kebijakan publikasi, dan integrasi elemen visual dengan narasi. Dengan visual yang otentik dan emosional, karya ini berhasil menciptakan narasi visual yang kuat, memberikan ruang bagi audiens untuk merasakan kehidupan di SLB secara lebih mendalam. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi dalam memproduksi media edukatif yang mendukung kesetaraan sosial. One institution that plays a crucial role in supporting them is SLB Dian Grahita, which provides specialized education for children with special needs. This thesis, titled "Cinematographic Techniques in Portraying the Reality of Special Education School Life Through the Feature Show 'The Light of the Future Behind SLB Dian Grahita'," aims to depict the reality of life for SLB students through an immersive and emotional cinematographic approach. Utilizing techniques such as low angle, high angle, and natural lighting, this work strives to convey messages of inclusivity and empathy. The final product is a feature video that not only inspires but also raises public awareness about the importance of inclusive education. Challenges during production included filming amidst special needs students, adapting to publication policies, and integrating visual elements with the narrative. Through authentic and emotional visuals, this work successfully creates a compelling visual narrative, offering the audience a deeper understanding of life at SLB.
