Abstract

This research aims to: (1) Determine whether there is a significant difference in mathematical problem-solving abilities between students who undergo Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by Geogebra and students who undergo Conventional-Expository learning. (2) Determine whether there is a significant difference in the improvement of mathematical problem-solving abilities between students who undergo Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by Geogebra and students who undergo Conventional-Expository learning. The research employs a The Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population comprises all eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 80 Jakarta, with a sample of two classes: VIII-E (Experimental Class) and VIII-F (Control Class). Data collection utilizes a problem-solving ability test on lines and angles. Hypothesis testing analysis is based on posttest data and N-Gain. The research findings indicate a significant average difference in the mathematical problem-solving abilities of students who underwent Problem Based Learning assisted by Geogebra compared to those who underwent Conventional-Expository learning. Additionally, there is a difference in the improvement of mathematical problem-solving abilities among students who underwent Problem Based Learning assisted by Geogebra, showing an improvement of 0.3716 in the moderate category, compared to 0.2036 in the low category for students who underwent Conventional-Expository learning.
