Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan skills mahasiswa dalam komunikasi menggunakan bahasa inggris, meningkatkan kepercayaan diri mahasiswa setelah lulus kuliah untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan yang lebih baik dan mempermudah mahasiswa untuk mengikuti program kerja dan melanjutkan kuliah ke luar negeri. Dengan mempunyai kemampuan dalam berbicara menggunakan dua bahasa, tentu hal itu akan menjadi nilai tambah pada diri kita. Bertujuan untuk mengetahui tentang “Efekftivitas Penerapan Speaking Skills Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris pada Universitas Bhayangkara”, penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis kualitatif deskriptif untuk menggambarkan dan menjelaskan secara terperinci mengenai fenomena yang ada dengan menggunakan teknik wawancara sebagai instrument pendukung. Dalam penelitian ini Efektivitas Penerapan Speaking Skills Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris pada Universitas Bhayangkara belum optimal dirasakan oleh mahasiswa. Hambatan-Hambatan dalam Efektivitas Penerapan Speaking Skills Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris pada Universitas Bhayangkara, ada beberapa hal yang menjadi hambatan: kurang rasa percaya diri mahasiswa dalam penerapan speaking skills pendidikan bahasa inggris, kurang sosialisasi, pentingnya speaking skills pendidikan bahasa inggris dan kurang tenaga pengajar yang bisa speaking skill aktif. Adapun upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi hambatan-hambatan dalam Efektivitas Penerapan Speaking Skills Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris pada Universitas Bhayangkara antara lain sebagai berikut: menumbuhkan rasa percaya diri mahasiswa dengan dimotivasi, memberikan sosialisasi tentang keuntungan ketika mampu speaking skills bahasa inggris aktif dan merekrut tenaga pengajar luar sehingga intensitas penggunaan bahasa inggris tinggi dalam berinteraksi. / This study aims to improve students' skills in communicating using English, increase student confidence after graduating from college to get a better job and make it easier for students to take part in work programs and continue studying abroad. By having the ability to speak two languages, of course it will be an added value to ourselves. Aiming to find out about "Effectiveness of the Implementation of Speaking Skills in English Education at Bhayangkara University, this study uses a descriptive qualitative analysis method to describe and explain in detail the existing phenomena using interview techniques as a supporting instrument. In this study, the effectiveness of the application of speaking skills in English education at Bhayangkara University was not optimally felt by students. Obstacles in the Effectiveness of the Implementation of Speaking Skills in English Education At Bhayangkara University, there are several things that become obstacles: lack of student confidence in applying speaking skills in English education, lack of socialization of the importance of speaking skills in English education and a lack of teaching staff who can speak active skills. The efforts made to overcome the obstacles in the Effectiveness of the Implementation of Speaking Skills in English Education at Bhayangkara University include the following: growing student self-confidence by being motivated, providing socialization about the benefits of being able to speak English actively and recruiting outside teaching staff so that the intensity of the use of English is high in interaction.
