Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi yang semakin maju, menyebabkan cara kerja Public Relations juga ikut berkembang. Cyber Public Relations (Cyber PR) merupakan salah satu langkah yang digunakan perusahaan dalam menyampaikan informasi dan kegiatan PR melalui media internet. PT. Pertamina adalah perusahaan yang juga menjadikan internet sebagai alat komunikasi utama untuk publisitas dalam menangkal isu hoax yang sering terjadi di perusahaan. Peran divisi cyber PR sangat berpengaruh dalam menangkal isu hoax yang sering terjadi di media digital, sehingga sangat berpengaruh pada citra PT. Pertamina dalam menjaga citra perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana keberadaan PR cyber menjadi gaya baru bagi PR dalam menjalankan perannya sebagai ujung tombak informasi dan fungsinya sebagai manajemen mempertahankan, mengelola dan membangun citra perusahaan dan reputasi perusahaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Menggunakan konsep Cyber Public Relations Phillips dan model Young dalam meneliti masalah penelitian yang ada. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa membentuk divisi Cyber PR adalah salah satu bentuk strategi dari PT.Pertamina dalam menangkal isu hoax yang sering terjadi di internet, khususnya media sosial. Konten yang di sajikan oleh divisi Cyber PR di media sosial beragam, yaitu membagikn informasi, mengedukasi, mengadakan event, membuat stampel jika terdapat hoax, membuat video edukasi, dan juga memberikan tips dan trik sebagai awareness akan isu hoax. Kata kunci: Cyber PR, Hoax, PT. Pertamina, Citra. The development of increasingly advanced technology, causing the workings of Public Relations also developed. Cyber Public Relations (Cyber PR) is one of the steps used by companies in delivering information and PR activities through the internet media. PT. Pertamina is a company that also makes the internet as the main communication tool for publicity in counteracting the hoax issues that often occur in companies. The role of the cyber PR division is very influential in counteracting the issue of hoax that often occurs in digital media, so it is very influential on the image of PT. Pertamina in maintaining the company's image. This study aims to see how the existence of cyber public relations is a new style for public relations in carrying out its role as the spearhead of information and its function as management of maintaining, managing and building the company's image and company reputation. This study uses a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative approach. Using the concept of Cyber Public Relations Phillips and Young's model in researching existing research problems. The results showed that forming the Cyber PR division is a form of PT.Pertamina's strategy in counteracting hoax issues that often occur on the internet, especially social media. The content presented by the Cyber PR division on social media is diverse, namely sharing information, educating, organizing events, making stamps if there are hoaxes, making educational videos, and also providing tips and tricks as awareness of hoax issues.
