Abstract

Perhatian kritis terhadap fenomena pekerja migran dan permasalahannya di tingkat lokal semakin meningkat. Malaysia tidak terkecuali. Ada masalah, terlihat dari maraknya isu-isu seperti upah tidak dibayar, pekerjaan ilegal, eksploitasi, bahkan kekerasan yang berujung pada kematian pekerja migran di Malaysia. Pemerintah Indonesia telah melakukan upaya untuk memberikan perlindungan karena pekerja migran Indonesia merupakan fenomena umum bagi Indonesia dengan tren permasalahan yang tidak semakin menurun menimbulkan masalah dalam tata kelola dari awal proses rekuritmen, pengiriman hingga bekerja di tempat tujuan. Malaysia menjadi tujuan utama Pekerja Migran Indonesia dan sumber Pekerja Migran Indonesia terbesar, dengan menggunakan konsep politik luar negeri dan diplomasi perlindungan maka penelitian ini ingin melihat sejauh mana upaya pemerintah Indonesia dalam melindungi Pekerja migran Indonesia di Malaysia hal ini menyangkut permasalahan dan perlindungan yang diterima Pekerja Migran Indonesia. Penelitian ini berusaha menjelaskan langkah-langkah perlindungan yang diambil oleh pemerintah Indonesia untuk pekerja migran di Malaysia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi penelitian kualitatif, melihat setiap tindakan dan upaya terkait. Perlindungan pekerja migran Indonesia telah diprioritaskan oleh pemerintah, pelayanan dan perlindungan PMI di Malaysia merupakan tugas yang cukup berat, sehingga upaya pemerintah Indonesia untuk memprioritaskan PMI di Malaysia patut diapresiasi. Upaya pemerintah untuk melindungi PMI adalah jenis perlindungan yang nyata sehingga mampu meminimalisir setiap permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh pekerja migran yang bekerja di Malaysia./ Critical attention to the phenomenon of migrant workers and their problems at the local level is increasing. Malaysia is no exception. There is a problem, as seen from the rise of issues such as unpaid wages, illegal work, exploitation, and even violence that leads to the death of migrant workers in Malaysia. The Indonesian government has made efforts to provide protection because Indonesian Migrant Workers are a common phenomenon for Indonesia with a trend of problems that are not decreasing, causing problems in governance from the beginning of the recruitment process, sending to working at the destination. Malaysia is the main destination for Indonesian Migrant Workers and the largest source of Indonesian Migrant Workers, by using the concept of foreign policy and diplomacy of protection, this study wants to see how far the efforts of the Indonesian government in protecting Indonesian Migrant Workers in Malaysia are related to the problems and protection received by Migrant Workers. Indonesia. This study seeks to explain the protective measures taken by the Indonesian government for migrant workers in Malaysia. This study uses a qualitative research methodology, looking at each related action and effort. The protection of Indonesian migrant workers has been prioritized by the government, the service and protection of PMI in Malaysia is quite a difficult task, so the efforts of the Indonesian government to prioritize PMI in Malaysia should be appreciated. The government's effort to protect PMI is a real type of protection so as to minimize every problem faced by migrant workers working in Malaysia
