Abstract

Akne vulgaris (AV) adalah penyakit kulit umum yang mempengaruhi antara 85 dan 100 persen orang Indonesia di beberapa titik selama hidup mereka. Pasien dengan kondisi tersebut mungkin terdengar mengeluh tentang efek fungsional, sosial, psikologis, dan emosionalnya karena memiliki dampak yang cukup besar pada kehidupan mereka. Salah satu aspek penting yang mempengaruhi kualitas hidup seseorang adalah kemampuannya untuk melakukan tugas sehari-hari sesuai dengan usia dan/atau fungsi utamanya dalam masyarakat. Selama 10 tahun terakhir, ada lonjakan minat dalam mempelajari efek psikologis dari berbagai penyakit kulit dan bagaimana mereka mempengaruhi kualitas hidup pasien. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat keparahan akne vulgaris dengan kualitas hidup mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Kristen Indonesia angkatan 2017 dan 2018. Metode: Merupakan penelitian deskriptif analitik cross sectional. Penelitian dilakukan pada Maret hingga Mei 2021 menggunakan kuisioner yang sudah divalidasi oleh Cardiff University dan pemeriksaan fisik pada wajah yang dilakukan oleh peneliti. Teknik sampling berupa purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 180 orang. Hasil: Menurut hasil penelitian yang dilakukan peneliti, responden yang mengalami gangguan kualitas hidup ringan dengan tingkat keparahan akne ringan sebanyak 105 responden (53.3%). Menggunakan uji statistik chi-square, ditemukan hubungan positif yang substansial antara keparahan jerawat dan kualitas hidup seseorang (nilai p = 0,000 <0,05). Hubungan ini ternyata positif kuat. Kesimpulan: Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara tingkat keparahan akne vulgaris terhadap kualitas hidup mahasiswa angkatan 2017 dan 2018 Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Kristen Indonesia./ Background: Acne vulgaris (AV) is a common skin disease that affects between 85 and 100 percent of Indonesians at some point during their lives. Patients with the condition may be heard to complain about the functional, social, psychological, and emotional effects it has on their lives. One of the important aspects that affect a person's quality of life is his ability to perform daily tasks according to his age and/or his main function in society. Over the past 10 years, there has been a surge of interest in studying the psychological effects of various skin diseases and how they affect patients' quality of life. Objectives: This study aims to determine the relationship between the severity of acne vulgaris and the quality of life of students of the Faculty of Medicine, Indonesian Christian University class of 2017 and 2018. Methods: This is a cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study. The study was conducted from March to May 2021 using a questionnaire that had been validated by Cardiff University and a physical examination of the face by the researcher. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a sample size of 180 people. Results: According to the results of this poll, light acne was the most severe type of acne (53.3%). Using the chi-square statistical test, a substantial positive relationship was found between acne severity and a person's quality of life (p value = 0.000 < 0.05). This relationship turned out to be quite strong. Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a relationship between the severity of acne vulgaris and the quality of life of students of class 2017 and 2018 Faculty of Medicine, Christian University Indonesia.
