Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar kimia siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 14 Jakarta melalui model pembelajaran POE, (2) mengetahui seberapa besar peningkatan hasil belajar kimia siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 14 Jakarta melalui model pembelajaran POE. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIPA yang terdiri dari lima kelas dengan jumlah 180 siswa. Sampel penelitian yang diambil sebanyak dua kelas dengan jumlah masing-masing kelas sebanyak 36 siswa, dengan teknik pengambilan dilakukan dengan purposive sampling. Kelas pertama yaitu siswa kelas XI MIPA 3 sebagai kelompok eksperimen diberi perlakuan menggunakan model pembelajaran POE dan kelas kedua yaitu siswa kelas XI MIPA 5 sebagai kelompok kontrol diberi perlakuan menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes hasil belajar berbentuk pilihan ganda berjumlah 20 butir soal. Hasil uji persyaratan analisis yang diperoleh menunjukkan data yang digunakan berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran POE dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kimia siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 14 Jakarta, hal ini dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata pretest kelompok eksperimen sebesar 45,277 dan nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 78,888 dan nilai rata-rata pretest kelompok kontrol sebesar 38,055 dan nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 69,444. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menggunakan paired sample t-test diperoleh thitung > ttabel (23,594 > 1,993) dengan nilai sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05 yang berarti Ha diterima, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran POE dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kimia siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 14 Jakarta. Hasil perhitungan n-gain diperoleh skor n-gain untuk kelompok eksperimen 0,614 atau 61,4% yang dikategorikan sedang dan skor n-gain untuk kelompok kontrol 0,506 atau 50,6% yang dikategorikan sedang, dengan besar selisih yang diperoleh sebesar 0,108. This study aims to: (1) find out the increase in chemistry learning outcomes of class XI students at SMA Negeri 14 Jakarta through the POE learning model, (2) find out how much the increase in chemistry learning outcomes at grade XI students at SMA Negeri 14 Jakarta through the POE learning model. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students of class XI MIPA consisting of five classes with a total of 180 students. The research samples were taken as many as two classes with the number of each class totaling 36 students, with the sampling technique carried out by purposive sampling. The first class is students of class XI MIPA 3 as the experimental group treated using the POE learning model and the second class students grade XI MIPA 5 as the control group were treated using the direct learning model. The instrument used was a test instrument in the form of multiple choice learning totaling 20 items. The results of the analysis requirements test showed that the data used were normally distributed and homogeneous. Based on the results of data analysis shows that the POE learning model can improve the chemistry learning outcomes of class XI students of SMA Negeri 14 Jakarta, this can be seen from the average pretest score of the experimental group by 45,277 and the average posttest score of 78,888 and the average value of the pretest the control group was 38,055 and the posttest mean score was 69,444. The results of hypothesis testing using paired sample t-test obtained tcount> t table (23.594 > 1.993) with sig values. (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0.05, which means Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that the POE learning model can improve the chemistry learning outcomes of class XI students of SMA Negeri 14 Jakarta. The n-gain calculation results obtained n-gain scores for the experimental group 0.614 or 61.4% which are categorized as moderate and n-gain scores for the control group 0.506 or 50.6% which are categorized as moderate, with a large difference obtained by 0.108.
