Abstract

Indonesia memiliki kekayaan hutan hujan tropis yang luas namun menghadapi tekanan deforestasi yang sangat signifikan, terutama di wilayah Papua yang mencatat sekitar 70% dari total deforestasi nasional pada tahun 2023. Deforestasi ini dipicu oleh perluasan lahan perkebunan, kegiatan pertambangan, dan pembangunan infrastruktur yang seringkali mengabaikan kapasitas ekologis wilayah tersebut. Isu deforestasi ini memberikan dampak luas, mengancam keanekaragaman hayati serta mengganggu ekosistem masyarakat adat yang sangat bergantung pada hutan. Skripsi karya ini bertujuan untuk menyampaikan isu deforestasi hutan adat di Papua melalui produksi vodcast audio visual berjudul “Hutan yang Tercabut: Suara Masyarakat Papua dalam Bayang-Bayang Industri”. Vodcast ini dirancang sebagai media edukatif yang informatif dan menarik guna mendorong kepedulian publik terhadap pelestarian hutan dan perlindungan hak-hak masyarakat adat Papua. Dalam penciptaan karya ini menempatkan penulis pada peran editor video yang bertanggung jawab penuh atas seluruh tahapan produksi, mulai dari pra produksi, produksi, hingga pasca produksi. Teknik editing utama yang diterapkan meliputi editing multicamera dengan penggunaan tiga kamera untuk menghasilkan variasi visual yang dinamis serta memperkuat ekspresi narasumber melalui sinkronisasi audio-visual berdasarkan waveform dan timing. Selain itu, teknik picture in picture (PiP) diaplikasikan untuk menyajikan visual tambahan berupa data deforestasi, ilustrasi grafis, dan cuplikan kondisi hutan tanpa memutus alur pembahasan utama. Proses produksi menggunakan peralatan profesional termasuk kamera resolusi 4K, lighting, clip-on microphone, dan perangkat laptop Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 dengan aplikasi Capcut. Hasil karya menunjukkan bahwa integrasi teknik multicamera dan PiP berhasil menciptakan tayangan yang dinamis, informatif, dan lebih mudah dipahami oleh audiens. Kesimpulan akhir menegaskan bahwa penggunaan teknik editing yang tepat sangat krusial dalam menyampaikan narasi lingkungan yang kompleks secara terstruktur, sehingga mampu menjadi media edukasi yang efektif bagi isu-isu di tanah Papua. This deforestation is driven by plantation expansion, mining activities, and infrastructure development that often neglect ecological capacity. The issue has far-reaching consequences, threatening biodiversity and disrupting the ecosystems of indigenous communities who depend on the forest. This graduation work aims to convey the issue of customary forest deforestation in Papua through the production of an audio-visual vodcast titled “Hutan yang Tercabut: Suara Masyarakat Papua dalam Bayang-Bayang Industri”. The vodcast is designed as an informative and engaging educational medium to foster public awareness regarding forest conservation and the protection of indigenous rights in Papua. In the assigns the author the role of video editor, responsible for the entire production process from pre-production to post-production. The primary editing techniques employed include multicamera editing using three cameras to produce dynamic visual variations and emphasize the speakers' expressions through audio-visual synchronization based on waveforms and timing. Additionally, the picture in picture (PiP) technique is applied to present supplementary visuals such as deforestation data, graphic illustrations, and forest condition footage without interrupting the main discussion flow. The production utilized professional equipment including 4K resolution cameras, lighting, clip-on microphones, and a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 laptop with the Capcut application. The results demonstrate that the integration of multicamera and PiP techniques successfully created a dynamic, informative, and easily understandable program for the audience. The final conclusion emphasizes that the application of appropriate editing techniques is crucial in delivering complex environmental narratives in a structured manner, thus serving as an effective educational tool for environmental issues in Papua.
