Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis komunikasi interpersonal pasangan Generasi Z yang berada di perkotaan melalui Deeptalk call pada aplikasi WhatsApp dalam membangun dan mempertahankan hubungan romantis. Fenomena ini berkembang seiring meningkatnya penggunaan media komunikasi digital sebagai sarana untuk menjaga kedekatan emosional di tengah keterbatasan interaksi tatap muka. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Informan penelitian merupakan pasangan Generasi Z yang berdomisili di Kota Bandung, Kota Bekasi, dan Kota Denpasar serta secara rutin melakukan Deeptalk call. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi nonpartisipan, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Deeptalk call telah menjadi bagian penting dalam komunikasi pasangan Generasi Z untuk mempertahankan kualitas hubungan romantis. Melalui komunikasi yang berlangsung secara mendalam, pasangan dapat saling berbagi pengalaman, mengungkapkan perasaan, memberikan dukungan emosional, membangun kepercayaan, serta menyelesaikan konflik melalui komunikasi yang terbuka. Praktik Deeptalk call juga mampu menciptakan kedekatan emosional, meningkatkan kualitas komunikasi interpersonal, dan memperkuat komitmen dalam hubungan meskipun dihadapkan pada keterbatasan waktu dan jarak. Temuan penelitian menegaskan bahwa deep talk call tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai media komunikasi digital, tetapi juga menjadi ruang komunikasi yang efektif dalam membangun hubungan yang harmonis, intim, dan berkelanjutan bagi pasangan Generasi Z. Kata kunci: Deeptalk Call, Generasi Z, hubungan romantis, komunikasi interpersonal, WhatsApp. / This study aims to analyze the interpersonal communication of urban Generation Z couples through deep talk calls on WhatsApp in building and maintaining romantic relationships. This phenomenon has emerged alongside the increasing use of digital communication media as a means of maintaining emotional closeness despite limited opportunities for face-to-face interaction. This study employed a qualitative approach using a phenomenological method. The participants consisted of Generation Z couples residing in Bandung, Bekasi, and Denpasar who regularly engaged in deep talk calls. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that deep talk calls have become an essential part of interpersonal communication among Generation Z couples in maintaining the quality of their romantic relationships. Through meaningful conversations, couples are able to share experiences, express their feelings, provide emotional support, build mutual trust, and resolve conflicts through open communication. The practice of deep talk calls also fosters emotional intimacy, enhances the quality of interpersonal communication, and strengthens commitment despite limitations of time and distance. The study concludes that deep talk calls function not only as a digital communication medium but also as an effective communication space for developing harmonious, intimate, and sustainable romantic relationships among Generation Z couples.
