Abstract

Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk menyingkap gerak transformasi Manifest Destiny sebagai dalil historis-imperial yang tak pernah hilang, namun senantiasa bermetamorfosis dari ekspansionisme teritori menjadi dispositive simbolik kebijakan luar negeri Amerika Serikat terhadap konflik Israel-Palestina di era kepemimpinan Donald Trump. Dengan mengawinkan teori governmentality Michel Foucault serta mirror stage Jacques Lacan, penelitian ini akan melacak bagaimana Trump dan Xi Jinping mengoperasionalisasikan dua mekanisme kekuasaan secara simultan: America First sebagai nostalgia imperium yang melumuri dirinya dengan mandat moral untuk tatanan global, serta BRI yang hadir sebagai narasi tandingan Cina yang terselubung hegemoni ekonomi dalam estetika harmoni. Gelanggang Israel-Palestina dalam lanskap ini tidak hanya tentang konflik etno-religius yang disengketakan, namun merupakan theater of desire, arena dimana dua kekuatan besar mengkompilasikan fantasi hegemonik masing-masing. Dengan metode genealogi, penelitian ini akan menyingkap retakan historis serta diskontinuitas Manifest Destiny yang bereinkarnasi sebagai legitimasi simbolik dalam kebijakan politik luar negeri kontemporer. Penelitian ini akan melaqak bagaimana America First ataupun BRI berkelindan sebagai dispositive hegemonik yang senantiasa mendisiplinkan imajinasi global, menghasilkan normalitas, serta membentuk kepatuhan dalam panggung IsraelPalestina sebagai arena eksperimen legitimasi imperium. Kata Kunci: America First; BRI; Manifest Destiny; governmentality; mirror stage / This research aims to uncover the transformation of Manifest Destiny as a historical-imperial proposition that never disappears, but constantly metamorphoses from territorial expansionism into a symbolic dispositive of United States foreign policy towards the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the era of Donald Trump's leadership. By marrying Michel Foucault's governmentality theory and Jacques Lacan's mirror stage, this research will trace how Trump and Xi Jinping operationalize two mechanisms of power simultaneously: America First as imperial nostalgia that smears itself with a moral mandate for global order, and the BRI which appears as a counter-narrative to China that disguises economic hegemony in the aesthetics of harmony. The Israeli-Palestinian arena in this landscape is not only about a disputed ethno-religious conflict, but is a theater of desire, an arena where two great powers compile their respective hegemonic fantasies. Using the genealogical method, this research will reveal the historical cracks and discontinuities of Manifest Destiny that are reincarnated as symbolic legitimacy in contemporary foreign policy. This research will examine how America First and the BRI intertwine as hegemonic dispositives that continually discipline the global imagination, produce normality, and shape obedience on the Israeli-Palestinian stage as an experimental arena for imperial legitimacy.
