Abstract
Prinsip penyusunan bahan ajar harus disusun berdasarkan dari 5 prinsip yaitu prinsip kesesuaian, prinsip kegunaan, prinsip ilmiah, prinsip menarik dan prinsip sistematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah buku ajar “Easy Steps to Chinese 1” sudah menerapkan prinsip menarik dan untuk mengidentifikasi prinsip-prinsip menarik yang diimplementasikan ke dalam buku ajar “Easy Steps to Chinese 1”. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis isi /content analysis untuk mengidentifikasi kandungan prinsip menarik dalam buku tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil analisis isi buku, buku ajar Easy Steps to Chinese 1 telah menerapkan prinsip-prinsip menarik dalam isi buku yaitu topik yang relevan dan dapat digunakan di dalam kehidupan sehari-hari oleh pembelajar, adanya keberagaman isi yang meliputi jenis teks, desain sampul, tabel kosakata di setiap unit, dan kumpulan kosakata pada halaman terakhir buku latihan/workbook, serta kolom catatan penting /note yang memberikan informasi tambahan bagi pembelajar. Selain itu, ini juga menampilkan keberagaman bentuk latihan yang mencakupi latihan keterampilan mendengar, keterampilan berbicara, keterampilan membaca dan keterampilan menulis atau听说读写tīng shuō dú xiě, serta menyediakan latihan aktivitas /activity. Buku ajar ini juga disusun dengan tingkat kesulitan yang bertahap pada topik, jumlah kosakata, panjang kalimat, hanzi dan latihan-latihan, dilengkapi banyak ilustrasi guna membantu menjelaskan topik menggunakan ilustrasi visual pada latihan-latihan guna menghindari rasa jenuh saat mengerjakan latihan, serta buku ajar ini memasukkan konten budaya pada isi buku guna menambah daya tarik dan informasi. Melalui survei yang dilakukan oleh peneliti dan pembelajar ditemukan bahwa pengajar yang menggunakan buku ajar ini sependapat dengan temuan peneliti bahwa buku ajar ini sangat bagus untuk digunakan dan buku ini mengandung prinsip-prinsip menarik, dan ditemukan juga mayoritas pembelajar menyatakan bahwa buku Easy Steps to Chinese 1 menarik dan menyenangkan untuk digunakan, walaupun konten budaya Tiongkok dalam buku ini masih kurang memadai. Kata kunci: Prinsip menarik, Memotivasi belajar, Buku ajar / The principles for developing instructional materials must be based on five principles: the principle of appropriateness, the principle of usefulness, the principle of scientific accuracy, the principle of engagement, and the principle of systematic organization. This study aims to determine whether the textbook “Easy Steps to Chinese 1” has applied the principle of appeal and to identify the principles of appeal implemented in the textbook “Easy Steps to Chinese 1”. The method used in this study was content analysis to identify the engaging principles within the book. Based on the results of the content analysis, the Easy Steps to Chinese 1 textbook has incorporated engaging principles into its content, including topics that are relevant and applicable to learners’ daily lives, a variety of content that encompasses different text types, cover design, vocabulary tables in each unit, and a vocabulary list on the last page of the workbook, as well as a “notes” column that provides additional information for learners. Additionally, it features a variety of exercise formats covering listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills (听说读写tīng shuō dú xiě), and includes activity exercises. This textbook is also structured with a gradual increase in difficulty regarding topics, vocabulary, sentence length, Chinese characters, and exercises. It is accompanied by numerous illustrations to help explain topics visually and to prevent boredom during exercises. Additionally, the textbook incorporates cultural content to enhance its appeal and provide further information. Through a survey conducted by the researcher and learners, it was found that teachers using this textbook agreed with the researcher’s findings that the textbook is excellent for use and contains engaging principles. It was also found that the majority of learners stated that the Easy Steps to Chinese 1 textbook is engaging and enjoyable to use, although the content on Chinese culture in this book is still insufficient. Keywords: Engaging principles, Motivating learning, Textbooks / 教材编写原则应基于五大原则:针对性、实用性、科学性、趣味性和系统性。本研究旨在确定《轻松学中文1》教科书是否贯彻了趣味性,并找出《轻松学中文1》教科书中贯彻的趣味性。本研究采用内容分析法来识别该教材中的趣味性。根据对教材内容的分析,教材《轻松学中文 1》已经在内容中应用了趣味性,包括与学习者日常生活相关的主题、多样化的内容如文本类型、封面设计、每个单元的词汇表、练习册最后几页的词汇汇总表,以及为学习者提供额外信息的重要提示栏。此外,这本教材还展示了多样化的练习形式,涵盖了听说读写技能的练习,并提供了活动练习。这本教材的编排难度逐步增加的难度,涵盖了话题、词汇量、句子长度、汉字和练习,这本教材也有配有大量插图帮助解释主题,并在练习中使用了视觉插图,以避免在做练习时产生厌倦感,此外,这本教材还在内容中融入了文化元素,以增加吸引力和提供额外的信息。通过研究者进行的调查,使用这本教科书的老师同意研究人员的发现:这本教科书非常好用,并且包含有趣的原理。同时,调查还发现,大多数学习者认为《轻松学中文1》有趣且令人愉快,尽管书中的中国文化内容仍然不足。 关键词:趣味性、学习动机、教材
