Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perilaku kedisiplinan siswa di SMK Sint Joseph serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang melatarbelakangi pelanggaran terhadap tata tertib sekolah. Dalam proses pendidikan, kedisiplinan siswa merupakan elemen esensial dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang tertib dan kondusif. Namun, realitas di SMK Sint Joseph menunjukkan masih maraknya pelanggaran seperti keterlambatan, kelalaian dalam mengenakan atribut, tidak mengikuti kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, dan membawa barang terlarang ke sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui wawancara mendalam, dokumentasi, serta observasi terhadap lima responden dan satu guru BK. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat faktor internal (kurangnya kesadaran diri, kontrol diri yang lemah) dan faktor eksternal (pengaruh teman sebaya, kendala transportasi) yang memengaruhi perilaku tidak disiplin siswa. Selain itu, sekolah telah menerapkan sejumlah program karakter seperti Sistem Poin, Program Membumi, dan Jumat Bersih & Cinta Tanah Air untuk meningkatkan kedisiplinan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam merancang strategi pembinaan yang lebih menyeluruh guna menumbuhkan karakter disiplin pada siswa secara berkelanjutan./This study aims to describe students’ disciplinary behavior at SMK Sint Joseph and to identify the underlying factors behind students’ violations of school rules. Discipline is a critical element in establishing an orderly and conducive learning environment. However, violations such as tardiness, failure to wear proper school attire, non-participation in extracurricular activities, and bringing prohibited items to school remain prevalent. This research employed a qualitative approach supported by quantitative data, utilizing in-depth interviews, documentation, and observations of five student respondents and one guidance counselor. The findings revealed that both internal factors (lack of self-awareness, poor self-control) and external factors (peer influence, transportation issues) significantly contributed to disciplinary problems. Additionally, the school has implemented various character-building programs such as the Point System, “Membumi” Reflective Program, and the Clean Friday & Patriotism Program to promote discipline. This study offers valuable insights for developing more effective and holistic character education strategies to foster responsible and disciplined student behavior.
