Abstract

Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah word-webbing memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa kelas sepuluh. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Pusaka 1 Jakarta pada tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas sepuluh. Sampel penelitin diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Terdapat 30 siswa kelas X-1 (kelas kontrol) dan 30 siswa kelas X-2 (kelas eksperimen). Pada kelas eksperimen, word-webbing diterapkan untuk melihat efek dari teknik tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimental. Untuk mendapatkan data, pre-test dan post-test digunakan sebagai instrumen. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan teknik analisis statistik parametrik melalui program SPSS versi 21.00. Hasil uji normalitas menggunakan Shapiro-Wilk menunjukkan data berdistribusi normal dan hasil uji homogenitas menggunakan uji Levene menunjukkan varian bersifat homogen. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan Word Webbing berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan menulis teks recount siswa kelas sepuluh. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan berdasarkan nilai rata-rata pre-test dan post-test, yaitu masing-masing 36.56 dan 77.43 dengan kenaikan sebesar 40.87. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t independen, diperoleh nilai signifikan (ρ) = 0.000 lebih kecil dari nilai signifikan α (0.05). Temuan menunjukkan bahwa Ha diterima. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah word-webbing berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan menulis teks recount siswa kelas sepuluh. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, disarankan agar guru menggunakan word-webbing sebagai salah satu referensi metode pengajaran pada kelas menulis. This research was conducted at SMA Pusaka 1 Jakarta in the academic year of 2017/2018. The population of this research was the tenth graders. The sample was chosen by using purposive sampling technique. There were 30 students in X-1 (control class) and 30 students in X-2 (experimental class). In the experimental class, word-webbing was applied to see the effect of that technique. This research was carried out by using experimental method. To obtain data, pre-test and post-test were used as instruments. The data obtained were analyzed using the descriptive statistic and parametric statistical analysis technique through SPSS version 21.00 program. The result of normality test using Shapiro–Wilk showed normal distribution, and the result of homogeneity test using Levene’s test showed homogeneous variances. The result of this research showed word-webbing had significant effect on the tenth graders’ recount text-writing skill. It can be seen from the mean scores of pre-test and post-test, which were, 36.56 points and 77.43 respectively with significant increase about 40.87. Based on the result of hypothesis test using the independent sample t-test, it was found that sig. value (ρ) = 0.000 is less than sig. level α (0.05). The findings indicated that Ha is accepted. The conclusion of this research was word-webbing significantly affected tenth graders’ recount text writing skill.
