Abstract
Stres kerja merupakan ketidakmampuan untuk mengimbangi tekanan pekerjaan, karena tingginya tuntutan yang tidak diimbangi dengan kompetensi karyawan. Stres kerja dapat dipengaruhi oleh banyak hal, salah satunya adalah Emotional Intelligence (EI). Karyawan yang memiliki EI tinggi cenderung mampu mengelola stres kerja yang dialami. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan EI terhadap stres kerja pada karyawan eselon 1-4 di plant 3, 4, dan 5 PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. pada tahun 2021. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional yang dilakukan pada bulan Februari-Maret 2021. Pengumpulan data emotional intelligence menggunakan Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire oleh MidCentral District Transformational Leadership Programme dan stres kerja dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner The Workplace Stress Scale. Teknik sampling dalam penelitian ini menggunakan total sampling, dan didapatkan jumlah sampel keseluruhan sebanyak 42 karyawan. Hasil uji statistik chi-square didapatkan nilai p yaitu 0,042 (p<0,05), sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara EI terhadap stres kerja pada karyawan eselon 1-4 di plant 3, 4, dan 5 PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. Kata kunci: Emotional intelligence, stres kerja, karyawan . / Work stress is an inability to keep up with work pressure, because of the high demands that are not balanced by the employee’s competence. Work stress can be influenced by many things, one of which is Emotional Intelligence (EI). Employees who have high EI are able to manage their work stress. The objective of this study is to determine the relationship of EI on work stress in echelon 1-4 employees in plants 3, 4, and 5 PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. in 2021. This is a correlational analytic study with a cross-sectional approach which was conducted in February-March 2021. This research is using Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire by the MidCentral District Transformational Leadership Program to determine EI and the The Workplace Stress Scale questionnaire to determine work stress. The sampling technique used in this study is total sampling, and the whole amount of the sample are 42 employees. The results of the chi-square statistical test obtained a p value of 0.042 (p <0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between EI on work stress in echelon 1-4 employees in plants 3, 4, and 5 PT.
