Abstract

Hasil ulangan harian siswa kelas VIII-A SMP Santa Cicilia 2 pada materi Statistika menunjukkan bahwa dari 24 siswa, terdapat 21 siswa yang mendapat nilai di bawah KKM (Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal). Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui bentuk-bentuk kesulitan belajar dan faktor-faktor penyebabnya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Populasinya adalah siswa kelas VIII-A SMP Santa Cicilia 2 yang berjumlah 21 siswa yang nilai ulangan harian Statistika di bawah KKM. Subjek wawancara dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 3 orang yang dipilih berdasarkan teknik purposive random sampling dan berdasarkan diskusi dengan guru matematika yang mengajar di kelas. Pemberian tes dan pelaksanaan wawancara dilakukan untuk mengumpulkan data sehingga dapat diketahui kesulitan siswa dan faktor penyebabnya. Dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan konsep, kesulitan prinsip, dan kesulitan menyelesaikan masalah variabel. Penyebabnya karena kurangnya konsentrasi siswa, kebiasaan belajar siswa, cara mengajar guru yang membuat siswa bosan, bahkan lingkungan keluarga yang tidak mendukung belajar siswa. / The daily test results of class VIII-A students at SMP Santa Cicilia 2 on Statistics material showed that out of 24 students, there were 21 students who scored below the KKM (Minimum Completeness Criteria). The aim of the research is to determine the forms of learning difficulties and the factors that cause them. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The population was students in class VIII-A of SMP Santa Cicilia 2, totaling 21 students whose daily statistics test scores were below the KKM. The interview subjects in this research were 3 people who were selected based on purposive random sampling techniques and based on discussions with mathematics teachers who taught in class. Giving tests and conducting interviews is carried out to collect data so that students' difficulties and the factors that cause them can be identified. From this research it was found that students experienced conceptual difficulties, principle difficulties, and difficulty solving variable problems. The causes are due to students'lack of concentration, students' study habits, teachers' teaching methods that make students bored, and even a family environment that does not support student learning.
