Abstract

Katarak merupakan penyebab utama kebutaan secara global. Sekitar 94 juta menderita katarak. Sekitar 81% kasus penurunan penglihatan di Indonesia disebabkan oleh katarak. Kelompok usia di atas 50 tahun merupakan kelompok usia dengan angka kejadian gangguan penglihatan dan kebutaan tertinggi. Berdasarkan jenis kelamin, perempuan lebih mungkin terkena katarak. Hipertensi dan diabetes melitus (DM) merupakan salah satu penyakit sistemik yang berperan terhadap kejadian katarak. Pada umumnya katarak terjadi tiga hingga empat kali pada pasien DM di bawah usia 65 tahun dan dua kali pada pasien di atas 65 tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan usia, jenis kelamin, dan riwayat komorbid terhadap kejadian katarak di Rumah Sakit Universitas Kristen Indonesia (RSU UKI) tahun 2023. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi observasional analitik dengan menggunakan desain penelitian potong lintang. Data penelitian menggunakan data sekunder dari pencatatan rekam medik pasien di Poli Mata RSU UKI sebanyak 108 pasien. Analisis data dengan metode perhitungan uji Chi Square. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa p-value usia (p=0,074), jenis kelamin (p=0,661), hipertensi (p=1,000), DM (p=0,631). Simpulan penelitian ini adalah tidak terdapat hubungan antara usia, jenis kelamin, hipertensi, dan DM dengan katarak di RSU UKI. / Cataracts are the main cause of blindness globally. About 94 million have cataracts. Around 81% of cases of decreased vision in Indonesia are caused by cataracts. The age group over 50 years is the age group with the highest incidence of visual impairment and blindness. Based on gender, women are more likely to get cataracts. Hypertension and diabetes mellitus (DM) are systemic diseases that contribute to the incidence of cataracts. In general, cataracts occur three to four times in DM patients under the age of 65 years and twice in patients over 65 years. This study aims to determine the relationship between age, gender and history of comorbidities with the incidence of cataracts at the Indonesian Christian University Hospital (RSU UKI) in 2023. This research is an analytical observational study using a cross sectional research design. The research data used secondary data from recording patient medical records at the UKI RSU Eye Polytechnic for 108 patients. Data analysis using the Chi Square test calculation method. The results of this study show that the p-value is age (p=0.074), gender (p=0.661), hypertension (p=1.000), DM (p=0.631). The conclusion of this study is that there is no relationship between age, gender, hypertension, and DM and cataracts at RSU UKI.
