Abstract

Katarak merupakan penyebab kebutaan utama di dunia maupun di Indonesia. Kondisi ini terjadi ketika lensa mata yang seharusnya jernih atau transparan menjadi keruh, sehingga menghalangi cahaya yang melewati lensa dan menyebabkan penglihatan menjadi kabur. Katarak senilis merupakan bentuk katarak yang paling sering ditemukan dan terjadi pada penderita di atas usia 50 tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran faktor risiko penderita katarak senilis di Rumah Sakit Umum Universitas Kristen Indonesia Periode Januari 2021-Desember 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif retrospektif dengan metode pengambilan sampel secara Simple Random Sampling menggunakan data rekam medis pasien katarak senilis di Rumah Sakit Universitas Kristen Indonesia dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 181 pasien katarak senilis. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan hasil penderita katarak senilis berdasarkan jenis kelamin terbanyak pada jenis kelamin laki-laki sebanyak 92 pasien (51%). Berdasarkan kelompok usia, penderita katarak senilis paling banyak ditemukan pada kelompok masa manula, yaitu lebih dari 65 tahun sebanyak 98 pasien (54%). Berdasarkan kejadian lateralitas, ditemukan bahwa katarak senilis paling banyak mengenai kedua mata (bilateral) sebanyak 161 pasien (89%). Berdasarkan riwayat komorbid, mayoritas pasien penderita katarak senilis tidak memiliki riwayat hipertensi yaitu sebanyak 96 pasien (53%) dan tidak memiliki riwayat diabetes melitus yaitu sebanyak 128 pasien (71%). / Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness worldwide, including in Indonesia. This condition occurs when the clear or transparent lens of the eye becomes cloudy, blocking light passing through the lens and causing blurred vision. Senile cataracts are the most commonly found and occur in patients over 50 years old. This research aims to outline the risk factors for senile cataracts patients at the General Hospital of Christian University of Indonesia for the period January 2021-December 2023. The study employs a retrospective descriptive method using Simple Random Sampling to sample medical records data of cataract patients at Christian University of Indonesia Hospital, with a total sample size of 181 cataract patients. The study found that male patients accounted for the majority, with 92 patients (51%). In terms of age group, the highest number of senile cataract patients was found in the elderly group, aged over 65 years, with 98 patients (54%). Regarding laterality, it was found that senile cataracts most commonly affected both eyes (bilateral) in 161 patients (89%). Based on comorbidity history, the majority of senile cataract patients had no history of hypertension, with 96 patients (53%), and no history of diabetes mellitus, with 128 patients (71%).
