Abstract

Kanker payudara sebagai masalah kesehatan global, memerlukan berbagai upaya pencegahan untuk mengurangi tingginya insiden, morbiditas dan mortalitasnya. Selain berbagai upaya skrining kesehatan yang dilakukan pemerintah, seluruh lapisan masyarakat juga harus memiliki pengetahuan yang memadai tentang kanker payudara untuk pencegahannya, terutama bagi mahasiswa kedokteran yang harus mampu mengedukasi masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Kristen Indonesia angkatan 2022 mengenai kanker payudara untuk menjelaskan dampaknya serta mempromosikan kesehatan terkait kanker payudara kepada masyarakat umum. Penelitian deskriptif ini menggunakan kuesioner skala likert sebagai alat penelitian untuk memperoleh sampel yang ditentukan dengan metode simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 40 mahasiswaberjenis kelaminlaki- laki (29,2 %) dan 97 mahasiswa berjenis kelamin perempuan (70,8 %). Pengetahuan baik tentang kanker payudara sebanyak 70 orang (51,1 %), pengetahuan cukup tentang kanker payudara sebanyak 61 orang (44,5 %), dan pengetahuan kurang baik tentang kanker payudara sebanyak 6 orang (4,4 %). Dari hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa mahasiswa kedokteran Universitas Kristen Indonesia angkatan 2022 mayoritas berjenis kelamin perempuan, sebagian besar bertempat tinggal di rumah dan secara umum memilikipengetahuan yang cukup baik mengenai kanker payudara. Kata kunci : Kanker payudara, tingkat pengetahuan, mahasiswa. / Breast cancer as a global health problem requires various prevention efforts to reduce its high incidence, morbidity and mortality. In addition to various health screening efforts carried out by the government, all levels of society must also have adequate knowledge about breast cancer for prevention, especially for medical students who must be able to educate the public. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge of the 2022 batch of Christian University of Indonesia Faculty of Medicine students about breast cancer to explain its impact and promote health related to breast cancer to the general public. This descriptive study used a Likert scale questionnaire as a research tool to obtain a sample determined by the simple random sampling method. The results showed that 40 students were male (29.2%) and 97 students were female (70.8%). Good knowledge about breast cancer was 70 people (51.1%), sufficient knowledge about breast cancer was 61 people (44.5%), and poor knowledge about breast cancer was 6 people (4.4%). From the results of this study it can be concluded that the majority of 2022 Christian University of Indonesia medical students are female, most of them live at home and generally have a fairly good knowledge of breast cancer.
