Abstract
Pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis bertujuan untuk mencapai pemahaman yang lebih mendalam dan pembentukan konsep matematika. Namun, seringkali kita menemukan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa masih kurang, yang berdampak pada kualitas pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII di SMP 150 Jakarta dalam konteks materi kubus dan balok. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini melibatkan 32 siswa dari kelas VIII-G dan data dikumpulkan melalui analisis respon tes siswa dan wawancara. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mengacu pada empat indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis seperti yang dijelaskan oleh Facione: interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, dan inferensi. Hasil analisis data respon siswa menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata siswa kelas VIII-G SMP 150 Jakarta adalah 41,5, yang termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Secara kuantitatif, 72% (23 siswa) dianggap memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis rendah, 25% (8 siswa) berada dalam kategori berpikir kritis sedang, dan hanya 3% (1 siswa) yang dapat dianggap memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis tinggi. Kesimpulannya, tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII-G SMP 150 Jakarta masih sangat rendah, dan perlu adanya upaya pelatihan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan ini. / The development of critical thinking skills aims to achieve a deeper understanding and formation of mathematical concepts.and the formation of mathematical concepts.
