Abstract

This study is intended to obtain an overview of the problems that exist in schools in North Toraja specifically in relation to the quality of vocational education. In this study, it was investigated how much influence the principal's leadership, teacher motivation on improving the quality of education at SMK in North Toraja. This type of research is a verification with an explanatory approach. The population in this study were teachers of SMK Toraja Utara. The technique or sampling used in this study was Simple Random Sampling. The sample in this study was 190. The results showed that the value of R Square or the coefficient of determination was 0.435. This means that the percentage of the ability of the leadership and motivation variables (X1 and X2) explains the quality improvement variable (Y) is 43.5% and the rest is determined by other variables not included in this study, the coefficient of determination of the leadership variable and the quality of education is 0.362 or 36. 2%. That is, the leadership variable is able to explain the variation in the quality of education variables by 36.2%. The coefficient of determination between the two variables is 0.137 or 13.7%. That is, the motivation variable is able to explain the variation in the education quality variable by 13.7%. Keywords: Leadership, Teacher Work Motivation, Quality of Education
