Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the influence of self-concept and critical thinking skills to mathematics achievement of East Jakarta junior high school students. The method of the research was expost facto and population was the junior high school students in East Jakarta. The sample was taken from the St. Vincent, Junior High School 255, and Junior High School 160 students in East Jakarta. The total number of students was 120. The research variables covered mathematic achievement variable (Y), self-concept (X1) and critical thinking (X2). The data of mathematic learning achievement were taken from grade report; and the self-concept and thinking skill data were taken through questionnaires. The analysis of data used both descriptive and inferential statistics. The result of the study was the relationship between self-concept and critical thinking skills with mathematics learning achievement indicated by a significant and strong r = 0.926. The multiple regression equation was ŷ = 19.229 + 0.085X1 + 0.512 X2
