Abstract

The teacher is the deciding factor of the success of the learning process, so the teacher must be able to develop and implement the right learning variation in improving students ' mastery of the concept to the materials provided on the learning process for get optimal results. Low mastery of basic chemistry laws alleged to be caused by several factors, one of them because the learning is done in general use learning accounting methods. It looks at the moment of observation of researchers looking at learning teachers still use the conventional method with a learning model that is provide information only and less engaging students in the process of teaching and learning. It can also be seen on the value of chemical subjects fulfilling, on a high school student ( Senior High School) Santa Della Strada (80%) still a lot being under the KKM (Minimum Ketuntasan Criterion), namely < 75. Therefore researchers do the research to find out which are the result of increased learning chemistry students using cooperative learning model type TGT. This research was conducted in may 2018 in high school Santa Maria Della Strada North Jakarta with sampelnya is a grade X totalling 49 people consists of 24 students as class experiments and 25 students as a class of control taken with simple random sampling technique. Data obtained from the values of the pretest and posttest. The results showed that a homogeneous and normal data so obtained further test i.e. a hypothesis test results show the value of thitung-ttabel and α2 11,715 (df = 48) of 2.0687, then – t ¬ count (11.715) >-ttabel (1.677). The results of calculations on the weight gain trials showed that the gain in the control class niali 0.28 and classroom experiments 0.47. If interpreted on the classification of the index gain, then the class control including on criteria and wants a class criteria are. Based on those results, Ha Ho was rejected and accepted which means there is no increase in the results of the study chemistry students using learning Teams model koooperatif type Games Tournament (TGT). This is because the implementation of treatment and less compliance with TGT theory should be. Therefore for further study of its kind, can use different materials and make improvements from previous research.
