Abstract

Masalah utama dalam penelitian ini berkaitan dengan adanya keragaman tingkat pemahaman diri, variasi penyerapan informasi kerja, serta ditemukannya fenomena kompromi karier (compromise career) dan ambivalensi komitmen akademik pada mahasiswa. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran mendalam mengenai profil pengambilan keputusan karier mahasiswa Program Studi Bimbingan dan Konseling Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Kristen Indonesia Tahun Akademik 2025/2026. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara terbuka dan mendalam kepada tujuh orang informan mahasiswa yang terdaftar aktif, yang ditunjang dengan teknik dokumentasi akademis. Keabsahan data diperiksa menggunakan koding, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan secara interaktif meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data secara naratif, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tiga tema utama profil keputusan karier mahasiswa. Pertama, orientasi makna karier mayoritas informan bersifat psikologis dan eksistensial, di mana profesi bimbingan dan konseling dipandang sebagai aktualisasi potensi dan panggilan hidup melayani sesama. Kedua, faktor determinasi eksternal didominasi oleh otonomi dukungan finansial orang tua serta arahan dari guru pembimbing di sekolah asal. Ketiga, beberapa informan terindikasi melalui jalur kompromi karena keterbatasan kuota pilihan utama. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profil pengambilan keputusan karier mahasiswa berada pada fase eksplorasi yang matang dengan komitmen akademik transisional yang mengarah pada kesiapan kerja yang positif. / The main problem in this study relates to the diversity of self-understanding levels, variations in the absorption of job information, as well as the discovery of the phenomenon of career compromise and ambivalence of academic commitment in students. This study aims to obtain an in-depth picture of the career decision-making profile of students in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Christian University of Indonesia, Academic Year 2025/2026. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Data collection was conducted through open and in-depth interviews with seven actively registered student informants, supported by academic documentation techniques. Data validity was checked using coding, while data analysis was carried out interactively including data reduction, narrative data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate three main themes in the student career decision profile. First, the orientation of the meaning of career for the majority of informants is psychological and existential, where the guidance and counseling profession is seen as the actualization of potential and a life calling to serve others. Second, external determinants are dominated by the autonomy of parental financial support and direction from guidance teachers at their home schools. Third, several informants are indicated to have gone through a compromise path due to limited quotas for their main choices. Research shows that students' career decision-making profiles are in a mature exploration phase, with transitional academic commitments leading to positive work readiness.
