Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Peran Kegiatan Pembinaan Rohani terhadap Pembentukan Karakter Kristen pada Peserta Didik di SMAN 91 Jakarta.” Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah kurangnya karakter Kristen yang tercermin dalam kehidupan peserta didik, seperti rendahnya sikap empati, kurang tanggung jawab, serta sikap yang tidak mencerminkan nilai-nilai Kristiani. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran kegiatan pembinaan rohani dalam membentuk karakter Kristen peserta didik serta mengetahui bentuk karakter Kristen yang terbentuk melalui kegiatan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, dokumentasi, dan observasi terhadap kegiatan pembinaan rohani serta partisipasi peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pembinaan rohani berperan signifikan dalam membentuk karakter Kristen. Pembinaan tidak hanya berupa rutinitas keagamaan, tetapi menjadi sarana yang berhubungan dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai iman melalui kegiatan rutin seperti pembiasaan pagi, siang, dan ekstrakurikuler. Kegiatan khusus seperti Natal, Paskah, dan aksi nyata. Pembinaan ini memungkinkan peserta didik untuk terlibat secara aktif, mempraktikkan kasih, tanggung jawab, dan kepedulian melalui tindakan nyata. Kegiatan rohani juga menyediakan ruang refleksi dan dialog iman yang dipandu oleh pembina rohani. Temuan utama menunjukkan bahwa proses pembentukan karakter terjadisecara bertahap melalui lima gerakan pedagogis menurut Thomas Groome, yaitu tindakan masa kini, refleksi, cerita dan visi, dialog, dan tanggapan. Karakter yang terbentuk mencerminkan buah Roh, meliputi: kasih, sukacita, damai sejahtera, kesabaran kemurahan, kebaikan, kesetiaan, kelemahlembutan dan penguasaan diri. Namun, pembentukan karakter tidak akan maksimal jika hanya dilakukan oleh sekolah. Kolaborasi antara sekolah, keluarga, dan gereja sangat diperlukan untuk membentuk karakter Kristen secara utuh dan berkelanjutan dalam diri peserta didik. Kata Kunci: pembinaan rohani, karakter Kristen, peserta didik, sekolah Kristen, Thomas Groome / This research is entitled "The Role of Spiritual Coaching Activities on the Formation of Christian Character in Students at SMAN 91 Jakarta." The background of this research is the lack of Christian character reflected in the lives of students, such as low empathy, lack of responsibility, and attitudes that do not reflect Christian values. The purpose of this study is to find out the role of spiritual development activities in shaping the Christian character of students and to find out the form of Christian character formed through these activities. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, documentation, and observation of spiritual development activities and student participation. The results of the study show that spiritual development activities play a significant role in shaping Christian character. Coaching is not only in the form of religious routines, but also a related means of instilling faith values through routine activities such as morning, afternoon, and extracurricular habits. Special activities such as Christmas, Easter, and real actions. This coaching allows learners to be actively involved, practicing love, responsibility, and care through tangible actions. Spiritual activities also provide a space for reflection and dialogue of faith guided by a spiritual coach. The main findings show that the process of character formation occurs gradually through five pedagogical movements according to Thomas Groome, namely present actions, reflections, stories and visions, dialogue, and responses. The character formed reflects the fruit of the Spirit, including: love, joy, peace, patience, mercy, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. However, character formation will not be maximized if it is only done by schools. Collaboration between schools, families, and churches is indispensable to form a complete and sustainable Christian character in students.
