Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji pemanfaatan Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) yang diwakili oleh ChatGPT dalam konteks pendidikan teologi di Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Ebenhaezer (STTE) Tanjung Enim, dengan penekanan pada implikasi etis dari penggunaan teknologi ini dalam pembelajaran Agama Kristen. Tujuan utama dari studi ini adalah untuk menilai keuntungan dan tantangan yang ditimbulkan oleh ChatGPT dalam proses pembelajaran, serta untuk mengidentifikasi dampaknya terhadap pengembangan karakter dan pemahaman mahasiswa dalam kerangka teologi Kristen. Selain itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan pedoman etis terkait penggunaan teknologi AI dalam pendidikan Kristen, agar penerapannya tetap sejalan dengan nilai-nilai iman dan tujuan pendidikan agama. Pendekatan analisis yang diterapkan pada penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode etnografi, yang memungkinkan peneliti untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman langsung mahasiswa dan dosen dalam memanfaatkan ChatGPT. Data diperoleh melalui observasi partisipatif dan wawancara mendalam, dengan fokus pada cara ChatGPT digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran, serta dampaknya terhadap kreativitas, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan minat baca mahasiswa. Metode ini juga berfungsi untuk mengidentifikasi tantangan etis yang muncul, seperti berkurangnya interaksi sosial dalam pembelajaran dan meningkatnya plagiarisme. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi pada pengembangan pedoman etis bagi lembaga pendidikan teologi dalam memanfaatkan teknologi AI, serta memberikan wawasan bagi pengajar dan mahasiswa tentang cara mengintegrasikan teknologi dengan bijak. Penulis menyarankan perlunya pengembangan kebijakan yang mengatur penggunaan ChatGPT dalam pembelajaran, serta pentingnya membekali mahasiswa dengan pemahaman mengenai nilai-nilai etika Kristen dalam penggunaan teknologi, guna menjaga integritas akademik dan pengembangan karakter mereka / This research examines the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) represented by ChatGPT in the context of theological education at Ebenhaezer College of Theology (STTE) Tanjung Enim, with an emphasis on the ethical implications of the use of this technology in the learning of Christianity. The main objectives of this study are to assess the advantages and challenges posed by ChatGPT in the learning process, as well as to identify its impact on character development and student understanding within the framework of Christian theology. In addition, this study aims to formulate ethical guidelines regarding the use of AI technology in Christian education, so that its application remains in line with the values of faith and the goals of religious education. The analytical approach applied to this study is a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods, which allows researchers to explore the direct experiences of students and lecturers in utilizing ChatGPT. Data were obtained through participatory observation and in-depth interviews, focusing on how ChatGPT is used in the learning process, as well as its impact on students' creativity, critical thinking skills, and reading interest. This method also served to identify emerging ethical challenges, such as reduced social interaction in learning and increased plagiarism. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of ethical guidelines for theological education institutions in utilizing AI technology, as well as provide insights for faculty and students on how to integrate technology wisely. The author suggests the need to develop policies governing the use of ChatGPT in learning, as well as the importance of equipping students with an understanding of Christian ethical values in the use of technology, in order to maintain their academic integrity and character development.
