Abstract

This study purposed to identify the students’ perception on the use of animation movie to improve writing narrative text. This study used survey method. This study was conducted toward the seventh graders in SMP Santo Fransiskus 1 Jakarta. The study involved 37 students as respondents. The students were taken from class seventh graders group A and seventh graders group B. In this study, qualitative and quantitative data were collected using questionnaire. The questionnaire 5 Likert Scale format was devided into two: for collecting quantitative data, and open- ended format for collecting quantitative data. The open – ended formatted questionnaire was used to support the data collected through 5 Likert Scale questionnaire. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the students’ perception in the use of animation movie to improve writing narrative text was strong, in which the majority of the students answered agreed (48.10%) followed by strongly agreed (37.62%), disagreed (12.10%), and strongly disagreed (2.16%) respectively. It signifies that students perceived positively in the use of animation movie to improve writing narrative text. Moreover, some of the students were became more confident because their writing skill was improving through watced animation movie. Keywords: writing, animation movie, perception Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi persepsi siswa tentang penggunaan film animasi untuk meningkatkan penulisan teks naratif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap siswa kelas tujuh di SMP Santo Fransiskus 1 Jakarta. Penelitian ini melibatkan 37 siswa sebagai responden. Para siswa diambil dari kelompok kelas tujuh kelas A dan kelompok kelas tujuh B. Dalam penelitian ini, data kualitatif dan kuantitatif dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner. Kuesioner 5 format Skala Likert dibagi menjadi dua: untuk mengumpulkan data kuantitatif, dan format terbuka untuk mengumpulkan data kuantitatif. Kuesioner berformat terbuka digunakan untuk mendukung data yang dikumpulkan melalui 5 kuesioner Skala Likert. Berdasarkan analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa persepsi siswa dalam penggunaan film animasi untuk meningkatkan menulis teks narasi adalah kuat, di mana sebagian besar siswa menjawab setuju (48,10%) diikuti oleh sangat setuju (37,62%) , tidak setuju (12,10%), dan sangat tidak setuju (2,16%) masing-masing. Ini menandakan bahwa siswa merasa positif dalam penggunaan film animasi untuk meningkatkan teks penulisan narasi. Selain itu, beberapa siswa menjadi lebih percaya diri karena keterampilan menulis mereka meningkat melalui film animasi yang ditayangkan. Kata kunci: menulis,film animasi,persepsi
