Abstract

Video dokumenter "A Given Village" mengangkat fenomena inkulturasi antara agama Kristen dan budaya Bali yang terjadi di Desa Blimbingsari, Kabupaten Jembrana, Bali. Dalam karya ini, penulis naskah mengambil peran penting merancang struktur narasi dengan menggunakan teknik kronologis sebagai fondasi utama. Cerita dimulai dari sejarah masuknya agama Kristen ke Bali, berlanjut pada perjuangan umat Kristen yang mengalami penolakan sosial, hingga akhirnya mendirikan permukiman baru di wilayah hutan yang kemudian berkembang menjadi Desa Blimbingsari sebuah desa wisata rohani yang unik dan dikenal karena harmoni budaya dan keagamaannya. Penyusunan video dokumenter ini didukung oleh observasi lapangan, wawancara mendalam dengan delapan narasumber dari berbagai latar belakang, serta dokumentasi audio visual yang relevan. Teknik kronologis yang digunakan menggabungkan alur mundur ke masa lalu dengan alur maju menuju masa kini, untuk memberikan pemahaman utuh terhadap transformasi sosial, spiritual, dan budaya yang membentuk identitas desa ini. Hasil akhir karya berupa video dokumenter berdurasi dua puluh tiga menit yang menyampaikan perjalanan historis masyarakat Blimbingsari secara runtut, reflektif, dan menyentuh. Melalui dokumenter ini, penulis menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Blimbingsari mampu mengintegrasikan nilai - nilai iman Kristen dengan adat dan budaya Bali secara harmonis. Blimbingsari menjadi bukti nyata bahwa inkulturasi, toleransi, dan pelestarian budaya dapat berjalan seiring dalam kehidupan masyarakat multikultural di Indonesia. Kata Kunci: Video dokumenter, teknik kronologis, inkulturasi, budaya lokal.// The documentary video “A Given Village” explores the phenomenon of inculturation between Christianity and Balinese culture in Blimbingsari Village, located in Jembrana Regency, Bali. In this project, the scriptwriter plays a central role in shaping the narrative structure by applying a chronological storytelling technique as the main foundation. The story begins with the historical arrival of Christianity in Bali, followed by the early Christian community’s struggle against social rejection, leading to their relocation and the eventual formation of a new settlement in the forest. This area later developed into Blimbingsari now recognized as a spiritual tourism village that harmoniously blends faith and culture. The development of the documentary is supported by field observations, in-depth interviews with eight informants from various backgrounds, and relevant audio-visual documentation. The narrative technique combines a reverse-to-forward chronological flow, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the social, spiritual, and cultural transformation that shaped the identity of the village. The final product is a twenty three minutes documentary video that presents the historical journey of Blimbingsari's community in a structured, reflective, and emotionally resonant manner. Through this work, the scriptwriter illustrates how the people of Blimbingsari have successfully integrated Christian values with Balinese cultural practices. The village stands as a real example of coexistence, tolerance, and cultural preservation within a multicultural society in Indonesia.
