Abstract

The consequences that must be faced from Britain leaving the European Union with a Hard Brexit scheme on January 31, 2020, or known as Brexit (British Exit) seem to have had a major influence on changes in British immigration policy. Through the implementation of the new policy "Points-Based Immigration System" will certainly have an impact on EU migrant workers who work in the UK. Based on the new post-Brexit immigration policy, the formulation of the problem raised in the thesis "The Impact of Brexit (British Exit) on the Socio-Economic Conditions of European Union Migrant Workers in the UK in 2020-2022?". Researcher will use the Precariatism Theory and the Hard Brexit Concept as a reinforcement of the research data. The research method in this thesis is qualitative research using secondary data. The results of this research are that there has been a decrease in the migration of EU migrant workers to the UK, especially workers from EU member countries in low-skilled labor sectors, then EU migrant workers find it increasingly difficult to obtain permanent status in the UK so they choose to join as illegal migrants, then EU migrant workers are deprived of social and economic rights due to the restrictions that come with it, and low-skilled EU migrant workers are increasingly exposed to exploitation and alienation from their jobs in the UK. The precariat is formed through a process known as precarization (vulnerability), the impact of Brexit has caused European Union migrant workers who have been vulnerable from the start to be increasingly pushed into insecure jobs. Keywords: Brexit, UK, Migrant Workers, European Union
