Abstract

Depresi adalah keadaan emosi negatif mulai dari ketidakbahagiaan dan ketidakpuasan hingga perasaan sedih, pesimis, dan putus asa yang ekstrem yang mengganggu fungsi kehidupan. Masalah yang paling umum terjadi di kalangan mahasiswa tingkat akhir adalah suasana hati yang dapat memengaruhi perilaku dalam kehidupan sehari - hari. Mahasiswa kedokteran memiliki tingkat depresi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan populasi umum, hal ini terjadi karena mahasiswa kedokteran seringkali dihadapkan dengan berbagai stresor seperti, mata kuliah yang luas, masa studi yang lebih panjang, ketidakpuasan terhadap kuliah yang dijalani, harapan orangtua, masalah finansial, dan stresor ketika penyusunan skripsi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat depresi terhadap penyusunan skripsi mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Kristen Indonesia periode 2021 – 2022. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross sectional dan pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner BDI-II (Beck Depression Inventory). Hasil dari penelitian ini bahwa sebanyak 46.2% mahasiswa FK UKI yang sedang menyusun skripsi periode 2021-2022 mengalami depresi dengan berbagai macam tingkat depresi, yaitu depresi ringan sebesar 16%, sedang 16.8%, dan berat 13.4%. Depresi ini dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor seperti usia, jenis kelamin, dan motivasi masuk kedokteran. Kata kunci: tingkat depresi, mahasiswa kedokteran, skripsi./ Depression is a state of negative emotions ranging from unhappiness and dissatisfaction to extreme feelings of sadness, pessimism, and despair that interfere with the functioning of life. The most common problem among final-year students is the mood that can affect behavior in everyday life. Medical students have a higher level of depression than the general population, this happens because medical students are often faced with various stressors such as a lot of courses, long-time study periods, dissatisfaction with the lectures they undergo, parental expectations, financial problems, and stressors when making a thesis. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of depression in medical student of the Indonesian Christian University period 2021-2022 against making a thesis. The method used is descriptive with a cross sectional approach. Data were collected using the BDI-II (Beck Depression Inventory). The result of this study showed that 46.2% of medical students of the Indonesian Christian University making a thesis period 2021-2022 experienced depression with various levels of depression, which are 16% mild depression, moderate 16.8%, and severe 13.4%. This depression is influenced by several factors, which are age, gender, and motivation to be a medical student. Keyword: depression level, medical student, thesis.
