Abstract

Foundation of some structures, such as transmission towers, off-shore platforms and basement mats below the water table, are subjected to uplifting forces. Driven piles are sometimwa used for these foundations to resist the uplifting forces. Therefore it is important to predict the pullout resistance of piles from static analysis of shear strength parameters like cohesion (c) and internal fricion angle (f) taken from laboratory testing, the examined with tension insitu loading test.
