Abstract
ABSTRAK Latar belakang: Kanker serviks memiliki angka morbiditas dan mortalitas yang tinggi di seluruh dunia. Penting bagi wanita usia subur untuk memiliki pengetahuan yang baik terkait penyakit ini dan cara pencegahannya. Penelitian yang mengidentifikasi permasalahan ini di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Kristen Indonesia belum pernah dilakukan.Tujuan: Mengetahui gambaran tingkat pengetahuan mahasiswi FK UKI mengenai kanker serviks dan pap smear.Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang melibatkan 76 orang mahasiswi FK UKI angkatan 2018-2020. Pengambilan data menggunakan instrumen kuesioner yang dilakukan pada bulan September-Oktober 2021.Hasil: Mayoritas (76,55%) mahasiswi angkatan 2018-2020 di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Kristen Indonesia memiliki tingkat pengetahuan tentang kanker serviks secara umum yang termasuk dalam kategori baik. Penelitian ini juga mendapati bahwa mayoritas (68,66%) mahasiswi memiliki tingkat pengetahuan tentang pencegahan kanker serviks dengan metode pap smear yang termasuk dalam kategori baik.Kesimpulan: Mahasiswi angkatan 2018-2020 di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Kristen Indonesia memiliki tingkat pengetahuan tentang kanker serviks secara umum yang termasuk dalam kategori baik dan `memiliki tingkat pengetahuan tentang pencegahan kanker serviks dengan metode pap smear yang termasuk dalam kategori baik. Kata Kunci: kanker serviks; pap smear; pengetahuan; wanita usia subur /ABSTRACT Background: Cervical cancer has high morbidity and mortality rates worldwide. It is important for women of childbearing age to have good knowledge about this disease and how to prevent it. Research that identifies this problem at the Faculty of Medicine, Christian University of Indonesia has never been done.Objective: To describe the level of knowledge of UKI Medical Faculty students about cervical cancer and pap smears.Methods: This research is a descriptive study involving 76 students of UKI Medical Faculty class of 2018-2020. Data collection using a questionnaire instrument conducted in September-October 2021.Results: The majority (76,55%) of the female students at the Faculty of Medicine at the Christian University of Indonesia class of 2018-2020 had a good level of knowledge about cervical cancer. This study also found that the majority (68,66%) of female students had a good level of knowledge about cervical cancer prevention using the Pap smear method.Conclusion: Female students at the Faculty of Medicine at the Christian University of Indonesia class of 2018-2020 have a good level of knowledge about cervical cancer in general and and have a good level of knowledge about cervical cancer prevention with the Pap smear method.
