Abstract

This study aims to describe how the perceptions of the counseling students towards the performance of the guidance and counseling teachers. As with the phenomenon on November 12, 2019, the Twitter social network was stirred up by the discussion about "Guidance and Counseling teachers", which mostly discussed negative things. And based on the results of the seminar that the author participated in on March 6, 2020, he received information that most of the Guidance and Counseling students at a private university in Jakarta had the experience or view that Guidance and Counseling teachers were creepy teachers and were often called school police. This research is a descriptive quantitative research. The subjects of this study were all Guidance and Counseling students at a private university in Jakarta with as many as 73 students. The data collection method used was the perception scale of Guidance and Counseling students. In analyzing the data used descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed that Guidance and Counseling students had a moderate level of perception with a percentage of 52.1% of the performance of Guidance and Counseling Teachers. The medium perception category means that Guidance and Counseling students have unsatisfactory Guidance and Counseling teacher performance assessments and this is the same as the results of previous studies. So it can be concluded that the moderate perception possessed by BK students can be formed because of the cognitive, affective and connotative aspects.
