Abstract

Nutritional status is a benchmark that can be used to determine the progress of a nation. If the nutritional status of children under five in a country is poor, it can be said that the country's development is hampered. This study aims to determine the description of nutritional problems in children under five at RT 03 RW 033 Bojong Kulur Village, Bogor Regency in 2017. This research method is cross sectional and analyzed by univariate and bivariate. The sample in this study were families with children under five who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria set by the researcher. The results showed that there was a relationship between several variables studied, namely knowledge, attitudes, behavior, father's job, monthly income and availability of foodstuffs with the nutritional status of children under five. This is indicated by the results of statistical analysis, with the results of the chi square test obtained p = 0.000. This shows that there is a correlation between the dependent variable, namely nutritional status and the independent variables, namely knowledge, attitudes, behavior, father's occupation, economic status and food availability. Independent variables also influence other variables, so that there is a domino effect that causes a nutritional problem. It is hoped that this research can be useful for planning prevention and management of nutritional problems in the future, and can open the door for new research in the future.
