Abstract

This article examines the role of school principals’ servant leadership in developing innovative learning in Christian Religious Education. The main problem addressed is that innovative learning is often understood mainly as the use of new methods, digital media, or active learning strategies, while its theological orientation in Christian education receives less attention. This study uses library research with a qualitative-descriptive approach and theological-critical content analysis. The reviewed literature was selected from recent studies on educational leadership, servant leadership, Christian Religious Education, and innovative learning, while several classical sources were retained as theoretical foundations. The findings show that principals play a strategic role as servant leaders, instructional leaders, facilitators of teacher professional development, and builders of a Christian school culture. Innovative learning in Christian Religious Education should be Christ-centered, reflective, dialogical, contextual, participatory, and transformative. This article concludes that innovative learning in Christian Religious Education must be understood as a theological-pedagogical process directed toward faith formation, character development, competence, and students’ social responsibility.
