Abstract

Fenomena meningkatnya tren mini soccer di Jakarta mendorong lahirnya komunitas-komunitas olahraga non-formal yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana rekreasi, tetapi juga sebagai wadah pengembangan diri sosial. Salah satu faktor krusial dalam keberlangsungan komunitas adalah kepemimpinan dan komunikasi yang efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi partisipatif dan wawancara mendalam terhadap ketua komunitas serta empat anggota dengan latar belakang berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketua PS Konten, Fiega Adhi, menerapkan gaya komunikasi yang inklusif, suportif, santai, dan partisipatif. Komunikasi dua arah yang diterapkan tidak hanya menciptakan suasana akrab, tetapi juga meningkatkan rasa dihargai dan kepercayaan diri anggota, terutama mereka yang baru bergabung atau merasa kurang percaya diri. Gaya komunikasi yang digunakan mencerminkan karakteristik kepemimpinan transformasional dan kharismatik, di mana ketua berperan sebagai inspirator, fasilitator, sekaligus rekan sejajar. Kepercayaan diri anggota terbentuk melalui afirmasi positif, pemberian ruang untuk berperan aktif, serta apresiasi terhadap pencapaian kecil. Kesimpulannya, gaya komunikasi kepemimpinan yang tepat berperan penting dalam membangun dan menjaga kepercayaan diri anggota komunitas olahraga non-formal./This study aims to analyze the leadership communication style of the mini soccer community leader, PS Konten, in building members’ self-confidence. The growing popularity of mini soccer in Jakarta has encouraged the formation of non-formal sports communities that serve not only as recreational platforms but also as spaces for social self-development. One crucial factor in the sustainability of such communities is effective leadership and communication. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including participatory observation and in-depth interviews with the community leader and four members from diverse backgrounds. The findings indicate that the leader of PS Konten, Fiega Adhi, implements an inclusive, supportive, relaxed, and participatory communication style. The two-way communication approach fosters a friendly atmosphere and enhances members’ sense of appreciation and confidence, especially for newcomers or those lacking self-esteem. The communication style reflects transformational and charismatic leadership traits, where the leader acts as an inspirator, facilitator, and peer. Members’ self-confidence is built through positive affirmation, opportunities to take on active roles, and recognition of small achievements. In conclusion, an appropriate leadership communication style plays a vital role in fostering and sustaining self-confidence in non-formal sports communities.
