Abstract

Pendahuluan : Diabetes mellitus (DM) menjadi salah satu dari 10 penyakit noncommunicable penyebab kematian. Diabetes mellitus Tipe 2 adalah jenis diabetes yang paling banyak (90%) dan terjadi resistensi insulin. Intervensi diet merupakan manajemen penting bagi pasien DM tipe 2. Tujuan : Untuk mengendalikan ketidakstabilan kadar glukosa darah pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 di RS Ridwan Meuraksa, melakukan pemantauan nutrisi. Pendekatan: Dua individu penderita diabetes melitus menjadi subjek studi kasus dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif sebagai teknik ilmiah. Selama tiga hari, Ridwan Meuraksa, seorang tenaga medis di Rumah Sakit Kelas II Katleya, menjadi subjek studi kasus. Pemantauan nutrisi dan kadar gula darah dilakukan dengan menggunakan edukasi diet sebagai alatnya. Hasil : Penerapan diet menunjukkan bahwa setelah menjalani diet diabetes selama tiga hari, kadar gula darah pasien menurun dan sensasi kesemutan di kaki juga berkurang, serta nafsu makan mebaik, pasien 1 mampu melakukan diet DM, hingga gula darah membaik dari GDS 287 menjadi GDS 150 mg/dl, sedangkan pasien 2 tidak mampu melakukan diet DM, masih sering makan-makanan yang manis sehingga hasil gula darah belum membaik GDS 240 mg/dl Kesimpulan : Disarankan agar keluarga pasien dapat memberikan motivasi, dorongan serta semangat kepada pasien dalam menjalankan diet DM. Peran perawat dalam mengobservasi pasien selama di rumah sakit juga dibutuhkan dalam pengelolahan penyakit diabetes melitus tipe 2. Kata Kunci : Diabetes Melitus tipe 2; Pemantauan Nutrisi, Diabetes Melitus / Introduction : Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the 10 noncommunicable diseases that cause death. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is the most common type of diabetes (90%) and insulin resistance occurs. Dietary interventions are important management for patients with type 2 diabetes. Objective: To control blood glucose level instability in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at Ridwan Meuraksa Hospital, perform nutrition monitoring. Approach: Two individuals with diabetes mellitus were the subjects of a case study using descriptive analysis as a scientific technique. For three days, Ridwan Meuraksa, a medical worker at Katleya Class II Hospital, became the subject of a case study. Monitoring of nutrition and blood sugar levels is carried out using diet education as a tool. Results: The application of the diet showed that after undergoing a diabetic diet for three days, the patient's blood sugar level decreased and the tingling sensation in the legs also decreased, and the appetite improved, patient 1 was able to do the DM diet with a GDS result of 150 mg/dl, while patient 2 was unable to do the DM diet, still often eating sugary foods so that the blood sugar results had not reached GDS 240 mg/dl Conclusion: It is recommended that the patient's family can provide motivation, encouragement and enthusiasm to the patient in carrying out the DM diet. The role of nurses in observing patients while in the hospital is also needed in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
