Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul "Analisis Penggunaan Love Language dalam Hubungan Berpacaran (Studi pada Mahasiswa Universitas Borobudur)" dan bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana mahasiswa yang sedang menjalani hubungan pacaran mengekspresikan kasih sayang melalui lima bentuk love language yang dikemukakan oleh Gary Chapman, yaitu kata-kata peneguhan (words of affirmation), waktu berkualitas (quality time), menerima hadiah (receiving gifts), pelayanan (acts of service), dan sentuhan fisik (physical touch). Fokus penelitian ini adalah memahami bagaimana penggunaan love language dalam hubungan pacaran memengaruhi kualitas komunikasi, keintiman, dan penyelesaian konflik antar pasangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah lima pasangan mahasiswa Universitas Borobudur yang sedang menjalani hubungan pacaran lebih dari tiga bulan dan tidak menjalani hubungan jarak jauh. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi langsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setiap pasangan memiliki bentuk love language yang berbeda-beda. Beberapa pasangan mengalami konflik akibat perbedaan dalam memahami atau mengekspresikan love language masing-masing, namun konflik tersebut dapat diselesaikan dengan komunikasi yang terbuka dan jujur. Love language yang dipahami dan diterapkan dengan baik terbukti dapat memperkuat kedekatan emosional, meningkatkan kualitas komunikasi, serta menjaga keharmonisan hubungan. Kata Kunci: Love Language, Komunikasi, Hubungan Berpacaran, Mahasiswa, Komunikasi Antarpribadi / This research is entitled "Analysis of the Use of Love Language in Dating Relationships (Study on Borobudur University Students)" and aims to find out how students who are in a dating relationship express affection through five forms of love language proposed by Gary Chapman, namely words of affirmation, quality time), receiving gifts, acts of service, and physical touch. The focus of this research is to understand how the use of love language in dating relationships affects the quality of communication, intimacy, and conflict resolution between couples. This research uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods. The informants in this study were five pairs of Borobudur University students who were in a dating relationship for more than three months and did not have a long-distance relationship. The data collection technique was carried out through in-depth interviews and direct observation. The results of the study show that each couple has a different form of love language. Some couples experience conflicts due to differences in understanding or expressing their love language, but these conflicts can be resolved with open and honest communication. Love language that is well understood and applied has been proven to strengthen emotional closeness, improve the quality of communication, and maintain harmony in relationships.
