Abstract

Karya ini membahas penerapan jurnalisme sensitif gender dalam proses penyuntingan artikel di Luvmelove.com, sebuah platform media perempuan yang mengusung nilai self-love dan pemberdayaan. Dalam praktik media arus utama, bias gender masih marak ditemukan melalui diksi dan narasi yang cenderung menyudutkan perempuan dan kelompok rentan. Karya ini menyoroti bagaimana penyunting memainkan peran penting dalam menciptakan konten yang adil, inklusif, dan berpihak dengan menerapkan prinsip jurnalisme sensitif gender. Fokus utamanya adalah proses penyuntingan naskah artikel yang tidak hanya berorientasi teknis (struktur, EYD, dan kelengkapan informasi), tetapi juga mempertimbangkan etika narasi, pilihan diksi, dan keberpihakan nilai. Dalam prosesnya, penyunting menghadapi tantangan berupa ketiadaan pedoman penyuntingan spesifik yang berperspektif gender di awal, serta masih ditemukannya narasi yang bias seperti penggunaan istilah “korban” yang diubah menjadi “penyintas” untuk menekankan keberdayaan. Penyunting kemudian menyusun pedoman penyuntingan berbasis jurnalisme sensitif gender yang menjadi acuan dalam menyunting konten, termasuk dalam penggunaan bahasa, pemilihan judul, hingga elemen visual. Hasil akhirnya adalah terbentuknya alur kerja editorial yang sistematis dan panduan penyuntingan yang selaras dengan visi media, sehingga mampu menghasilkan konten yang informatif, empatik, dan memberdayakan. Penerapan jurnalisme sensitif gender dalam penyuntingan bukan hanya meningkatkan kualitas konten, tetapi juga membentuk kesadaran media yang adil dan bertanggung jawab. Kata Kunci: Jurnalisme Sensitif Gender, Penyuntingan Artikel, Self-Love. / This creative project explores the application of gender-sensitive journalism in the editorial process of Luvmelove.com, a women-focused media platform that promotes self-love and empowerment. In mainstream media, gender bias remains prevalent through language and narratives that marginalize women and vulnerable groups. This work highlights the editor’s role in creating inclusive and socially conscious content by applying principles of gender-sensitive journalism. The focus is on the editing process that goes beyond technical aspects such as structure, grammar, and accuracy, to include ethical narration, diction choices, and value-based editorial judgment. Throughtout the process, the editor encountered challenges, including the absence of initial editorial guidelines addressing gender sensitivity, and the frequent use of biased terminology, such as replacing “victim” with “survivor” to emphasize resilience. The editor then developed a gender-sensitive editorial guideline as a framework for editing decisions, covering language use, headline selection, and visual elements. The result is a systematic editorial workflow and gender-aware editing protocol aligned with the media’s vision, producing content that is informative, empathetic, and empowering. The implementation of gender-sensitive journalism not only enhances content quality but also contributes to shaping a fairer and more responsible media landscape.
