Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana neoliberalisme beroperasi di Asia Tenggara melalui mekanisme pendisiplinan pada berbagai kebijakan ekonomi dan pengentasan kemiskinan pada kesejahteraan. Ia mengangkat ide besar tentang bagaimana nilai-nilai efisiensi dan produktivitas pasar dilekatkan dalam program sosial-ekonomi negara hingga membentuk pola kepatuhan terhadap logika neoliberal. Penelitian ini menelusuri retakan sejarah yang memungkinkan terbentuknya sistem rasionalitas akan neoliberalisme dan bagaimana sistem tersebut berkembang menjadi rezim kebenaran dominan atas faktor ekonomi hingga kemiskinan. Fokus penelitian ini diarahkan pada bagaimana Indonesia, Malaysia, dan Filipina, beserta individu di dalamnya mengalami proses pendisiplinan dan internalisasi nilai. Pendekatan teoretis dalam penelitian ini ialah teori kuasa pendisiplinan dan konsep homo economicus neoliberal dari Michel Foucault. Metode yang diterapkan adalah genealogi dalam kerangka kualitatif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan studi literatur sebagai sumber primer dan sekunder. Validitas data pada penelitian ini diuji dengan teknik triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa neoliberalisme membentuk sistemnya melalui retakan-retakan sejarah yang memproduksi rezim kebenaran dan rasionalitas akan nilainya. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa terdapat operasi neoliberalisme melalui mekanisme-mekanisme kebijakan hingga menciptakan pola kepatuhan dan regulasi akan internalisasi nilai. Negara ditemukan penelitian ini berperan sebagai subjek yang didisiplinkan oleh institusi internasional, sementara individu menjadi subjek yang meregulasi dirinya sendiri sesuai logika pasar oleh mekanisme pengawasan negara. Dengan demikian, terbentuklah individu yang sesuai dengan karakteristik homo economicus neoliberal sebagai hasil dari rangkaian relasi kuasa dan pengetahuan. /This research aims to examine how neoliberalism operates in Southeast Asia through disciplinary mechanisms embedded in various economic and poverty alleviation policies related to welfare. It highlights how values of market efficiency and productivity are integrated into social and economic programs of the state, shaping patterns of compliance with neoliberal logic. This research traces historical cracks that have enabled the emergence of neoliberal rationality and explored how this system evolved into a dominant truth regime over economic conditions and poverty. The study focuses on how Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines along with individuals within these societies, undergo processes of discipline and internalization of neoliberal values. The theoretical approach used in this research is Michel Foucault’s theory of disciplinary power and the homo economicus neoliberal concept. The method used in this research is genealogy within a qualitative framework, with data collected through interviews and literature review as primary and secondary sources. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation. The findings reveal that neoliberalism establishes its system through historical cracks that give rise to a regime of truth and rationality based on its values. This study found that neoliberalism operates through policy mechanism that produce patterns of compliance and regulation through the internalization of values. The state acts as a subject disciplined by international institutions, while individuals become subjects who self-regulate according to market logic through state surveillance mechanisms. Consequently, the individuals shaped by this process reflect the characteristics of the homo economicus neoliberal, produced through a complex network of power-knowledge relations.
