Abstract

Climate disaster merupakan permasalahan global yang dialami setiap negara saat ini termasuk Kiribati. Masyarakat lokal Kiribati menerima dampak yang signifikan sehingga mengancam eksistensi bahasa dan budaya. Sebagai organisasi regional Pacific Island Forum senantiasa mengupayakan penyelesaian masalah iklim di wilayah Pasifik termasuk Kiribati. Atas dasar tersebut penelitian ini akan melihat dampak climate disaster terhadap budaya masyarakat lokal Kiribati serta peran PIF dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan iklim di Kiribati tahun 2019-2024. Untuk menjawab rumusan masalah tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan eko-regionalisme serta teori organisasi internasional menurut Clive Archer. Penelitian ini memakai metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis deskriptif. Penelitian ini dirancang untuk mengulas dampak climate disaster terhadap budaya masyarakat lokal Kiribati serta peran Pacific Island Forum (PIF) dalam menangani isu perubahan iklim di Kiribati. Kata Kunci: Climate disaster; Kiribati; PIF; Perubahan Iklim; Eko- regionalisme/Climate disaster is a global problem experienced by every country today, including Kiribati. The local people of Kiribati received a significant impact that threatened the existence of language and culture. As a regional organization, the Pacific Island Forum is always striving to solve climate problems in the Pacific region, including Kiribati. On this basis, this study will look at the impact of climate disasters on the culture of the local people of Kiribati and the role of PIF in solving climate problems in Kiribati in 2019-2024. To answer the formulation of this problem, this research uses the approach of eco-regionalism and international organization theory according to Clive Archer. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis approach. This research is designed to review the impact of climate disasters on the culture of the local communities of Kiribati and the role of the Pacific Island Forum (PIF) in addressing climate change issues in Kiribati.
