Abstract

Di tengah perkembangan teknologi informasi sekarang, guru PAK dengan pemahaman teologi dan kemampuan pedagogisnya perlu memfilter informasi dan memperlengkapi iman peserta didik dari generasi Z yang terbuka terhadap teknologi dan ideologi baru. Dalam hal ini, ilmu apologetika menjadi “senjata” penting untuk menghadapi fenomena modern ini, sesuai dengan mandat 1 Petrus 3:15-16 untuk siap mempertanggungjawabkan iman. Namun, apakah guru PAK sudah memahami dan mengimplementasikan peran mereka sebagai apologet dan pengajar apologetika? Adapun tujuan penelitian dalam tulisa ini yaitu: 1) untuk mengetahui pemahaman peran guru PAK sebagai apologet dan pengajar apologetika berdasarkan teks 1 Petrus 3:15-16, 2) untuk mengetahui implementasi peran dari guru PAK dalam membangun iman dan memperlengkapi peserta didik mengenai etika dalam berapologetika berdasarkan 1 Petrus 3:15-16? Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian mix-method yakni penelitian hermeneutika dan kualitatif. Responden yang diteliti adalah 5 alumni Prodi PAK FKIP-UKI. Hasil penelitiannya adalah: 1) Tafsiran 1 Petrus 3:15-16 menunjukkan bahwa guru PAK berperan sebagai apologet untuk membantu peserta didik memahami dan mempertanggungjawabkan iman mereka. Pesan dalam surat Petrus tentang etika dan gaya hidup juga mendorong guru PAK untuk menginspirasi peserta didik menjaga nama baik iman mereka. 2) Kelima responden menganggap apologetika penting bagi guru PAK, mengingat tantangan zaman yang dapat menggoyahkan iman peserta didik. Meskipun tidak mengajarkan apologetika secara langsung, guru PAK sering menghadapi pertanyaan seputar iman dari peserta didik dan mengajarkan iman dengan pendekatan yang mudah dipahami. Maka, kesimpulannya adalah surat 1 Petrus 3:15-16 mengandung pesan yang dapat menginspirasi guru PAK terkait perannya sebagai apologet dan pengajar apologetika. Para guru PAK perlu sadar akan perannya ini di tengah beragamnya ideologi yang memengaruhi iman peserta didik. Kata Kunci: Guru, Pendidikan Agama Kristen, Apologet, Pengajar, Apologetika. / In the midst of current developments in information technology, CRE teachers with their understanding of theology and pedagogical abilities need to filter information and equip the faith of students from generation Z who are open to new technology and ideologies. In this case, the science of apologetics becomes an important "weapon" to face this modern phenomenon, in accordance with the mandate of 1 Peter 3:15-16 to be ready to give responsibility for one's faith. However, do CRE teachers understand and implement their role as apologists and apologetics teachers? The research objectives in this paper are: 1) to find out the understanding of the role of CRE teachers as apologists and apologetics teachers based on the text 1 Peter 3:15-16, 2) to find out the implementation of the role of CRE teachers in building faith and equipping students regarding ethics in apologetics based on 1 Peter 3:15-16? The method in this research uses mix-method research, namely hermeneutical and qualitative research. The respondents studied were 5 alumni of the FKIP-UKI CRE Study Program. The results of the research are: 1) The interpretation of 1 Peter 3:15-16 shows that PAK teachers act as apologists to help students understand and take responsibility for their faith. The message in Peter's letter about ethics and lifestyle also encourages CRE teachers to inspire students to maintain the good name of their faith. 2) The five respondents consider apologetics important for CRE teachers, considering the challenges of the times which can shake students' faith. Even though they do not teach apologetics directly, PAK teachers often face questions about faith from students and teach faith in an approach that is easy to understand. So, the conclusion is that the letter 1 Peter 3:15-16 contains a message that can inspire CRE teachers regarding their role as apologists and teachers of apologetics. Religious Education teachers need to be aware of their role amidst the various ideologies that influence students' faith.
