Abstract

Katekisasi sidi bertujuan menimbulkan kesadaran diri menerima Tuhan Yesus Kristus sebagai Tuhan dan Juruselamat pribadi sebagai anugerah yang diberikan Allah Bapa serta bagaimana menjalankan kehidupan yang bertobat dan keteladanan hidup serupa seperti Tuhan Yesus Kristus. Pencapaian tujuan katekisasi sidi, salah satu faktor penentu utama adalah guru katekisasi yang memiliki visi, kompetensi atau kemampuan mengajar yang tinggi, dan memiliki panggilan mengajar firman Allah agar peserta didik mengalami perjumpaan pribadi dengan Tuhan Yesus Kristus atau pertobatan. Guru katekisasi sidi yang memiliki kompetensi guru katekisasi sidi, antara lain: kompetensi kerohanian, kompetensi psikologi, kompetensi pedagogik, kompetensi kepribadian, kompetensi profesional, dan kompetensi sosial, akan lebih memiliki kemampuan mengajar yang lebih baik serta hasil pembelajaran yang berkualitas dibandingkan dengan guru katekisasi sidi yang tidak memiliki kompetensi guru. Pembelajaran katekisasi sidi berkualitas ditentukan oleh salah satu faktor penting, yaitu apabila ada mutu dan kualitas guru katekisasi. Guru katekisasi sidi bermutu dan berkualitas apabila guru terus mau belajar dan mengupayakan peningkatan kompetensi melalui pendidikan formal maupun non formal. Upaya peningkatan kompetensi guru katekisasi, sebagai salah satu upaya meningkatakan pengetahuan, kemampuan, dan keterampilan mengajar supaya segala sesuatu yang disampaikan guru kepada peserta didik sesuai dengan kebenaran Allah, dapat berkenan di hati dan pemikiran peserta didik katekisasi sidi, serta tidak ketinggalan jaman atau up to date sehingga pembelajaran katekisasi sidi tetap terpelihara dan terjaga di tengah jaman canggih dan kondisi dunia yang menolak Tuhan Yesus Kristus sebagai Tuhan dan Juruselamat manusia berdosa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan dalam pembelajaran katekisasi sidi tahun pembelajaran 2017-2018 di gereja HKBP Kebon Jeruk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru katekisasi sidi di gereja HKBP Kebon Jeruk sudah memiliki kompetensi guru katekisasi. Kompetensi guru katekisasi sidi sudah dibuktikan, yaitu: melakukan tugas mengajar katekisasi sidi sesuai dengan Firman Tuhan, memahami iman percaya Kristus, memahami pembelajaran berdasarkan aturan HKBP (Aturan dohot Paraturan HKBP), berkarakter baik, bertanggung jawab, dan mampu mengajar. Guru katekisasi perlu mengupayakan peningkatan kompetensi guru katekisasi sidi supaya dapat mempersiapkan peserta didik menjawab persoalan hidup berdasarkan kebenaran Firman Allah dan tetap mempertahankan iman percaya kepada Tuhan Yesus. Kata kunci: upaya, peningkatan, kompetensi, guru, katekisasi sidi, meningkatkan, kualitas, pembelajaran, gereja, HKBP. / Confirmation’s catechism aims to generate self-awareness of receiving the Lord, Jesus Christ, as a Lonrd and Savior personally as a gift from God and how to live a life of repentance and exemplary life like the Lord Jesus Christ has experienced. To achieve the purpose of catechism confirmation, one of the main determinants is a catechetical teacher who has high vision, competence or teaching ability, and have a call to teach God’s word so that the learners experience either personal encounter with the Lord, Jesus Christ, or repentance. The teachers of confirmation catechism who have the competence as the teacher of confirmation catechism, among others: spiritual, psychological, pedagogic, personality, professional, and social competence, will have better teaching ability as well as quality learning outcomes compared to those who have no any teacher’s competence. The learning of qualified confirmation catechism is appointed by one important factor; it is if there is a quality of catechism teacher. Someone is qualified as a catechism teacher if the teacher continues to learn and seek to improve their competence through formal an non-formal education. The effort to increase the competence of catechism teacher is to increase knowledge, ability, and teaching skills so that everything conveyed by the teacher to the students, in accordance with the truth of God, can be pleasing in the hearts and minds of the students of confirmation catechism. The method of teaching is also up to date so that confirmation catechism learning is constantly maintained in the midst of this sophisticated era and the conditions of the world that so many people reject the Lord, Jesus Christ, as the Savior of sinful mankind. The method used in this research is descriptive research using qualitative approach. The study was conducted in learning confirmation catechism in the study year 2017-2018 at HKBP Kebon Jeruk. The results showed that the teacher of confirmation catechism at HKBP Kebon Jeruk has already had the competence of catechism teacher. The competence of the confirmation catechism teacher has been proven by: their performance in teaching confirmation catechism in accordance with the God’s words, their understanding in the faith of believing in Christ, their understanding in the materials based on HKBP rules, their good character, their responsibilities, and their teaching abilities. A catechism teacher needs to work on improving the competence of confirmation catechism teachers in order to prepare the student’s abilities to answer life questions based on the truth of the God’s words and to maintain teh faith of believing in the Lord, Jesus Christ.
