Abstract

COVID-19 is a new disease that was declared a pandemic by the WHO. COVID19 is caused by a new variant of coronavirus, now called SARS-CoV-2. Monocyte and eosinophil are part of the bodies innate immune system that is not specific to a certain type of antigen. Monocyte count of 3-8 % and eosinophil count of 2-4 % is the standard normal value for the study. The study aims to perceive monocyte and eosinophil profile of COVID-19 positive patients. It is designed as a cross-sectional study using 68 medical records with PCR test and complete blood count test. The study showed that 21 patients have normal monocyte count (30,8 %), 24 patients have decreased eosinophil count (35,2 %), and 15 patients have increased monocyte count and decreased eosinophil count (27,3 %). The age profile showed 21 patients (30,8 %) was between the age of 40 to 49 years. The gender profile showed 37 patients are male (54,4 %) and 31 patients are female (45,5 %). Keywords: COVID-19; Monocyte; Eosinophil.
